On 8/31/26, the Gage House staff at Stairways Behavioral Health held their 3rd Annual Overdose Awareness Ceremony. This is a time for our clients and staff to reflect and remember people that they have lost to overdose or active addiction. The ceremony offers a sense of remembrance, closure and the beginning of healing as our clients continue their recovery journey.

On August 31, 2026, the Erie County, Pennsylvania Office of Drug & Alcohol hosted a special event at Stairways Behavioral Health. The evening brought community members together for reflection, education, remembrance, and connection. Participants honored loved ones affected by overdose while learning about resources supporting healing, prevention, and recovery. Proclamations for this special date were received from the Mayor’s office and from the Erie County Executive Office.
A special thanks to Taylors HOPE, Highmark Caring Place, Lake Erie Youth R.O.A.D. Crew, HOPE Animal Assisted Crisis Response, and the Erie County Drug Alcohol Regional Recovery Hub for their partnership and participation. Their collective efforts helped create a meaningful evening of compassion, support, and hope for individuals and families throughout Erie County. 🫶
