Celebrating 102 incredible years! 🎈✨

This week, our Bayshire Riverwalk resident, Everett, marked a milestone that truly inspired us all. Surrounded by friends, community leaders, and special guests, it was a day filled with joy, gratitude, and unforgettable moments.

We extend our sincere appreciation to KGET TV - 17 Bakersfield for covering Everett’s story, as well as Mayor Karen Goh, Senator Shannon Grove’s office, Assemblyman Stan Ellis, Honor Flight Kern County, and Kern County Aging & Adult Services for honoring him with special recognitions.👏

The highlight of the celebration? The Bakersfield City Fire Department delivered the ultimate surprise—treating Everett to a special ride on a real fire engine! His smile said everything. 🚒

At 102, Everett reminds us every day that age is simply a number, and that life’s greatest adventures lie ahead. Happy Birthday, Everett—we are so honored to celebrate you! 🎂🥳

Sometimes the sweetest moments come from the simplest traditions. 🧑‍🍳🍰

For this edition of Cook’s Corner at Vista Gardens Memory Care, our residents got back to the basics by baking a delicious marbled cake!

With a little guidance from our Activity Director, Tina, our residents took the lead—measuring, pouring, and mixing every ingredient to perfection. Programs like Cook’s Corner do more than just make delicious treats; engaging in familiar, tactile activities helps stimulate sensory memory, encourage fine motor skills, and build pure joy in the present moment.

And of course... the absolute best part? Getting to enjoy a fresh slice of their hard work! 😋✨

Generations connecting over petals and smiles! 🌸✨

We are so grateful for the wonderful students from EL DORADO HIGH SCHOOL “Forget Me Not” club, who spent the day creating beautiful floral arrangements with our Bayshire Yorba Linda residents. Watching our community bloom with joy, laughter, and fresh flowers was truly the highlight of our week.
