🤎 International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples. Today, we honor the rich cultures, languages, traditions, and enduring strength of Indigenous Peoples around the world. We deeply recognize that Indigenous knowledge has long guided the care of families, pregnancy, birth, babies, and community. We also acknowledge the resilience of Indigenous communities and the importance of protecting Indigenous rights, voices, and ways of knowing—for today's generations and those yet to come!

Beloved community, we're pausing new client enrollment temporarily due to an unexpected statewide issue securing professional liability insurance. We are working in coalition with other midwife practices and the NM Health Care Authority to find solutions. We'll continue offering same-day clinic visits and support services through our perinatal community health worker, while this gets sorted. We have opened up a waitlist for prospective new clients with 2027 due dates. Thank you for your patience and support— we will share updates as they become available.

🌎 Breast/chest/bodyfeeding is a rewarding experience for many families. For others, it can come with unexpected challenges. At Breath of My Heart, our team includes trained lactation professionals who provide compassionate, evidence-informed support to help families meet their feeding goals—whether that means breast/bodyfeeding, pumping, combination feeding, or just navigating feeding challenges along the way. No two feeding journeys look exactly alike, but no one should have to navigate theirs alone. 💛

July is . Pregnancy care is an area where people with disabilities have historically faced significant barriers, such as:

- being assumed they shouldn't become parents
- not being listened to
- inaccessible clinics or exam tables
- providers lacking experience with disability
- or having their autonomy questioned

While we don't specialize in disability care, we certainly believe that every family deserves compassionate care. Every body. Every ability.
