Lately, I’ve been paying more attention to the small things that help me feel a little more grounded.

Not because cacao, yoga, cooking, or time with my animals can make stress disappear, but because returning to something familiar can help my body soften and remind me that I’m safe in the present moment.

Comfort doesn’t have to be elaborate or especially “wellness-y.” Sometimes it’s simply knowing what helps you come back to yourself and letting that be enough. 🌿

Wellness has a bit of a branding problem....

It’s often presented as green juice, perfect routines, expensive supplements, early mornings, and somehow always having your life together.

But wellness can look a lot less polished.

It can look like eating enough on a busy day. Resting so you don’t burn out. Setting a boundary. Asking for support. Choosing movement that feels good instead of punishing. Letting your healing be imperfect, nonlinear, and personal.

Wellness isn’t about becoming the most optimized version of yourself.

It’s about learning what helps you feel nourished, supported, regulated, and more connected to who you already are.

For National Wellness Month, consider this your reminder that wellness doesn’t have to look aesthetic to be meaningful. 🤍

What’s one wellness practice that genuinely supports you, even if it wouldn’t make a very exciting morning routine video?

You don’t have to consider yourself spiritual to explore holistic practices that may support your healing.

Holistic healing can simply mean caring for the whole person. Your body, mind, emotions, nervous system, stress levels, and sense of connection all matter.

Practices like Reiki, meditation, affirmations, and energy work don’t have to replace your faith, therapy, medical care, or personal beliefs. They can exist alongside them as tools that help you slow down, feel more grounded, and reconnect with yourself.

Healing isn’t about fitting into another box. It’s about discovering what helps you feel more connected, supported, and at peace in your own life. 🤍

Have you ever felt curious about holistic healing, but unsure whether it was “for you”?

What does it actually look like to use your Human Design in real life?

I sat down with my friend and fellow Human Design practitioner, Xayleen, to talk about her journey of starting her business and how her own design helped guide the process.

Not by giving her a perfect step-by-step plan, but by helping her understand her energy, recognize what felt aligned, and trust the way she was naturally meant to make decisions.

That’s one of the things I love most about Human Design. It isn’t about putting yourself into another box or following a new set of rules. It’s a tool that can help you move through big decisions, unexpected pivots, and new chapters with a little more self-trust.

Because building something of your own doesn’t always have to look the way everyone else says it should.

Thank you, Xayleen, for sitting down with me and sharing more of your story 🤍

“Just listen to your body” can be well-intentioned advice, but it can also feel pretty overwhelming when you’re still learning how to hear what your body is saying.

Hunger and fullness cues don’t always come through loud and clear, especially after years of food rules, restriction, stress, or feeling disconnected from your body.

Rebuilding body trust is a process. Sometimes it looks less like perfectly “eating intuitively” and more like creating consistency, nourishing yourself even when you aren’t totally sure what you need, and approaching your body with curiosity instead of pressure.

You don’t have to understand every signal perfectly to take care of yourself. 🤍

And you don’t have to rebuild that trust alone. This is exactly the kind of work we explore at J. Cole Nutrition, supporting your relationship with food while also healing the whole person.

Seatbelt on, thoughts unfiltered 🚗

There can be a point in eating disorder recovery where you are just tired of feeling like everything has to be analyzed.

You want to eat, rest, make plans, change your mind, have a hard day, or feel uncomfortable without immediately wondering, “Is this normal, or is this my eating disorder?”

That middle space can be confusing. You may be doing so much better, while still moving through situations that feel triggering, complicated, or hard to trust yourself in.

That is a big part of why I created Recovered, Now What? It is a space to process the parts of recovery that come after the most obvious work, when life is opening back up but you are still learning how to move through it as yourself.

You can learn more about Recovered, Now What? at the link in my bio.

Summer is not a deadline for becoming someone else.

You don’t have to spend the season monitoring, fixing, or apologizing for your body. You are allowed to be in the photos, wear a bikini, go to the BBQ, and enjoy making memories without waiting to feel “ready.”

Let this be the summer you participate in your life instead of postponing it. ☀️🤍
