🌟 Student Spotlight: Marissa

When Marissa arrived at Adult & Teen Challenge, she had already walked through more brokenness than most people experience in a lifetime. At just 20 years old, she had faced addiction, homelessness, broken relationships, and a deep sense of unworthiness. For years, she searched for identity and purpose in relationships, achievements, substances, and other things that could never truly fill the emptiness in her heart.

Eventually, Marissa reached a point where she knew she needed help. After reconnecting with her faith and family, she rededicated her life to the Lord and began praying for a miracle that would change the direction of her life. She remembered the phone number for Adult & Teen Challenge and finally found the courage to call. A bed was available at the Eugene Women's Campus, and shortly afterward, Marissa made the journey to Eugene.

Today, Marissa is discovering what it means to be restored, refined, and redeemed through Jesus Christ. She recognizes that her past does not define her and that she is not too broken or too far gone to experience God's love and purpose for her life.

During her time at Adult & Teen Challenge, Marissa has experienced restoration in her relationships with her family and freedom from the lifestyle that once held her captive. She describes the program as her "saving grace" and knows that the life she is building now is only the beginning of the journey God has prepared for her.

Most importantly, Marissa has found the hope she had been searching for all along. She shares that Jesus has restored her will to live, given her purpose, and brought her out of the darkness that once defined her life.

Marissa's story is a picture of why this ministry matters. Because of the generosity of people who believe in changed lives, women like Marissa have a safe place to begin again, discover freedom, grow in their relationship with Jesus, and build a new future.

And right now, your generosity can go even further. Gifts made toward the $100,000 Matching Gift opportunity can help provide the resources needed to continue giving women the opportunity to experience the same hope, healing, and transformation that Marissa is experiencing. HOPE STARTS HERE!

Your gift isn't just helping fund a program. You're investing in a life being changed.

Marissa, we are so proud of you! Keep going, girl. God has redeemed your story, restored your hope, and He has so much more ahead for you! ❤️

Dear Friends of Adult and Teen Challenge, thank you for the generous support you have given to EWC and ATC as a whole. Because of friends like you, women who once felt trapped by addiction and hopelessness are discovering freedom, purpose, and a new life through Jesus Christ. We hope you had an opportunity to read our recent Good News Report. Pearle’s story is a beautiful testimony of the life transformation God is bringing about through Adult & Teen Challenge. Her story is just one example of what your support makes possible.

Right now, your generosity can go twice as far.

This summer, Adult & Teen Challenge PacWest has been given an incredible $100,000 matching gift opportunity. A generous donor has pledged to match every dollar donated—up to $100,000—to support the PacWest campuses. That means your gift can be doubled! The funds raised through this match will be used at the designated campus to directly enhance the lives of the women and students in our programs. Your gift can help provide the resources, environment, and opportunities students need as they work toward lasting transformation.

Would you consider making a gift today and helping us reach the $100,000 match?

Please select “Eugene Campus – General Fund” when making your donation.

Give Now and Double Your Impact! Together, we can turn $100,000 into $200,000 of impact for students across Adult & Teen Challenge PacWest. Thank you for believing in these women, investing in their futures, and helping make transformation possible. We are incredibly grateful for your partnership. If you have any questions, or if there is something specific we can be praying for you about, please don't hesitate to reach out. We would be honored to pray with you.

Not receiving our Good News Report? We'd love to keep you connected to the incredible stories of lives being transformed across PacWest.

✨ Meet Our Staff Team ✨

Shannon White serves here at EWC as our Program Coordinator. She is a graduate of the Jacksonville Women’s Campus in our Southeast Region and celebrates 10 years sober and serving the Lord in full time ministry October, 23 2026. Her testimony continues to encourage ladies to find their way here, where hope is found every day. We are happy to share some of it with you.

“ When I came into ATC I never read a bible. I never went to church. No one ever told me about God. I had no idea what was happening around me, praying, preaching, worship. It was all so foreign. All I did know was that I was so broken, really beyond broken - shattered. I had nothing left and I was about to die. I had tried everything else and nothing ever worked, this was the only thing I had not tried, so I said why not. From the moment I picked up my first bible and started reading, the Lord started working. Reading the stories in the bible about Saul, Peter, and Rahab made me feel like I related to something for the first time in a very long time. I felt so much shame due to my addiction and lifestyle , l believed that there was no way to fix all of the damage that had been done in my life. Reading about the mistakes they made, and what God did in their lives not only gave me hope, but it broke me down in tears. I cried for the first time in so long, thinking maybe there is a way. Maybe there is a God?

From that point on the Lord continued to reveal himself to me in such a mighty way, but my program was so hard. I was a student for 19 months due to my behavior as a student, I struggled a lot. I had to get up and fight for my life every day. I was separated from my children for the first time ever the entire first year of my program. I cried over my children every night feeling so lost and confused. I was sober for the first time in 20 years. My emotions were all over the place, and so was my mental health. The only reason I made it, was because Jesus and leadership were with me every step of the way. The Lord gave me the strength to make it through one day at a time. My program was not pretty. It was messy. Ugly. Scary. Confusing for me and staff, but they prayed over me. They knew the Lord had his hand on me, that was evident through all of it, Jesus was with me. So, they were too. They never gave up on me. They did however, hold me accountable, raise me up, and teach me to be who I am today through many different avenues, and for that I am so grateful. I say, ATC raised me, because really they did. They taught me how to be a mature woman of God and walk through life successfully. They held my hand in my scariest and most painful moments and walked side by side with me through them. They celebrated with me every time I won. They pushed me forward towards my future, letting me know they believed in me and developing me to be the best I could be. They loved me like Jesus loves me. So here I am today, doing the same for others. What ATC did for me showed me that there is a God, that Jesus was real, and that people are more then the mistakes they make in life. Our God redeems and so today, I live a life that is no longer mine. I wake up every day to serve, and go out to do what God calls to to do for others. I follow in the footsteps of the ones who loved me until I was able to love myself - passing that love down to those who need it, helping other women discover the same thing I did. They are worth it! “ ❤️❤️❤️

We are so greatful for Pastor Shannon and her heart for the ministry and all who come in our doors. Please continue to pray for her, and our campus as we enter in and love on the women the Lord sends our way one at a time! Amen!
