Today is World Mental Health Day, and we want to talk about something that affects more families than most people realize.

The weeks and months after having a baby bring significant hormonal shifts that can affect your mood, energy, sleep and sense of self. If you’re feeling persistently overwhelmed, disconnected or unlike yourself, that’s worth bringing up to your Women’s Care provider. You are not failing. You are not alone.

At Women’s Care, our team takes postpartum mental health seriously and we’re here to help you get the support you need. Reach out to your provider or schedule through the link in our bio.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women, but early detection can make a significant difference. If you’re 40 or older and haven’t scheduled your annual mammogram yet, this is your reminder. If you have a family history of breast cancer or other risk factors, talk to your Women’s Care provider about when to start and how often.

Schedule your mammogram appointment today through the link in our bio.

For Dr. Mattern, pregnancy care is about more than appointments. It’s about getting to know each patient, listening to their concerns, and helping them achieve the pregnancy and delivery they desire.

Taking care of yourself looks different for everyone. It could mean working out 5 days a week, taking a walk after dinner each night, booking that annual exam or even just drinking more water. Whatever it may be for you, our team is cheering you on.

Your pelvic floor supports many important organs including the va**na, uterus and bladder. After pregnancy, menopause or even years of high-impact activity, it can weaken. Signs like urinary leaking, pelvic pressure and difficulty completely emptying the bladder are all symptoms worth bringing up with your provider. Make an appointment to talk to your Women’s Care provider today.
