We had a great time at the Scottish Festival!! Helen and Jack were there all day with her maiden Clan Lockhart! Amy was part of the Campbell Clan if only for a moment! I want to thank all the volunteers who ran the food booths, including Rose's daughters Sandy and Lu Ellen. It was a very busy day for them. You can't come to a Scottish Festival without having a banger dog. Amy even tried the tradition of waulking, which is taking a huge piece of cloth, twisting it, tying it together, then with a song, rotating the material between people as it goes by you. There were so many Clans, Scottish attire, incredible music, vendors and good wholesome FUN!!

We had a great turnout for Bingo! It's becoming a favorite and we have so much fun!

Today at Lone Oak the residents took a little trip out to Veneta to have lunch at The Broadway Grill, an older establishment with really cool things to look at. The food was delicious and the service was great! Thanks to Vonnette, Ramona's daughter, for suggesting this place so she could join us there!

We would like to honor our Resident of the Month - Miss Donna, a beloved resident mother who also happens to be an award-winning teacher! She was born in Eugene and raised in a cabin built by her father, a logger and parks director, on the coast in Mapleton. Both parents were teachers! Donna was inspired by her Scottish Literature Professor and went on to teach her whole life! Donna's best memory was when she got a call from Washington D.C. She was invited to the White House and awarded the National Teacher Award for her Ecology Program! Donna wants to share this wisdom: "Talk to a resident and employee you have never talked to before - kindness grows around you!" We love you Donna!
