As the holiday season approaches, HIV Alliance is preparing to host holiday parties for clients and their families in eight different locations across the state. These gatherings offer a chance to connect, celebrate, and enjoy a sense of community during a time of year that can feel isolating.

We’re asking community members to help by donating new, unused gifts and practical household essentials. Small, useful items can make a real difference, and gifts valued at under $20 are especially welcome. All donated items must be new and unused.

Items we can use include:

• Home essentials: blankets, pillows, towels, bedding, dishes, glasses, and kitchen items

• Warm clothing: new socks, gloves, and beanies

• Outdoor and survival gear: headlamps and other practical outdoor essentials

• Pet supplies: items for dogs and cats

• Food and grocery gift cards: non-perishable food and gift cards for Trader Joe’s, Market of Choice, and other grocery stores

• Gifts for children: new, age-appropriate gifts for kids ages 5–10

• Other useful gifts: small kitchen appliances and everyday household items

Donations are welcome on an ongoing basis. Our holiday parties begin the week before Thanksgiving, and items can be dropped off at the Eugene City View office or another local HIV Alliance office. Please contact Development Manager Matt Mazur to coordinate a drop-off or confirm the best location.

October is AIDS Awareness Month! Knowing your status is an important step in protecting your health and the health of others. HIV Alliance offers testing for HIV, Hepatitis C, syphilis, and more at select locations across Lane, Marion, Douglas, Josephine, Coos, and Curry counties in Oregon.

A huge thank-you to our amazing community partners for helping make our October neighborhood cleanup a success! We’re especially grateful to our friends at Chambers Westside Neighborhood Association for joining HIV Alliance staff and volunteers in coming together to keep our neighborhood clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone.

Your time, care, and commitment to our community make a real difference. Thank you to everyone who showed up, pitched in, and helped make our neighborhood a better place for all!

Today, we welcomed Speaker of the Oregon House of Representatives Julie Fahey to HIV Alliance for a conversation about the work we do across Oregon and the urgent need for sustainable funding for HIV care, prevention, housing, and support services.

Our staff had the opportunity to share what we’re seeing on the ground and what continued investment means for the people and communities we serve.

We’re excited to welcome HIV Alliance ( ) to the South Coast Health Equity Coalition Community Hub in North Bend beginning October 8!

Through this partnership, HIV Alliance will be at our Community Hub on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month from 3:00–5:00 PM, creating another opportunity for our community to access confidential, affirming, and low-barrier health and harm reduction services close to home.

Neighborhood Cleanup is back! 🧤🧹

Join HIV Alliance on Wednesday, October 14, from 5–7 PM for a community cleanup along the bike path near our City View office.

We’ll kick things off at 5:00 PM at 1195 City View St. with a brief overview of HIV Alliance’s programs and services, then head out at 5:30 PM to clean up the surrounding area.

This event is open to everyone in the community. Come lend a hand, meet your neighbors, and help us keep our neighborhood looking its best. Light refreshments will be available for volunteers!
