While we celebrate midwives and this spectacular new documentary, we should also take the time to mourn with those who lost a beloved friend and mentor midwife. So many are sharing photos and stories of her inspiration, it was a gift to have known her.

Some clients give their midwife gifts.

One of mine gave me a small birth themed zipper bag with a bunch of pens and a reading light that is rechargeable USB. Best gift ever! I use it all constantly. It was so thoughtful for her to see us charting in dim lights and think we needed this.

What gifts have you received that were really appreciated?

We are heartbroken to hear of the passing of Hayden Panettiere 💙

Hayden used her platform to speak about her experience with postpartum depression at a time when few public figures did. Her honesty about the stress, the anxiety, the isolation of feeling like "nobody around understood" gave voice to what so many new parents feel but rarely say out loud.

By sharing her story, Hayden helped normalize the conversation around perinatal mental health and let countless parents know they weren't alone in their struggle. That kind of courage leaves a lasting impact.

Our thoughts are with her family, her daughter, and everyone who loved her.

If you are struggling, please know help is available and you don't have to carry it alone. We are here for you, always.
