I love being able to offer this level of care! Because I already knew this family and their history, I was able to confidently advise them that it was ok to wait until morning. Because the family knew me and trusted my advice, they were able to rest assured, knowing their kid was being well taken care of and would be seen soon.

When I saw my patient the next day, the visit was easy and straightforward because I was already aware of what had been going on. The family didn’t have to repeat the whole story to a new on-call doctor. The visit would have been quicker, but my patient wanted extra time to play with my 3D puzzle! 😂

An ACTUAL Awesome Possum!!!
I had a very special guest visit my booth this past weekend at the We Are Bethel celebration.
Angelina is a 4 month old rescue opossum who was out socializing in her role as a small critter ambassador. She was so chill and cute! Getting to meet her made my day! 😍

I LOVE being able to say YES when my families need something. Same day appointment - of course! Basic medications available in clinic - yep! Contingency plan for what to do if things get worse while on vacation - done! Peace of mind knowing you can text your own pediatrician if plans go sideways - anytime! Since starting my DPC clinic, one of the big changes I LOVE is finally having control over my patient schedule. When I worked for an insurance-based practice, there were so many days when I would look at my schedule know at exactly what point I would be running behind. Some (or many!) things just can't be addressed in only 15 minutes. Refusing to skimp on patient care, I would end up running longer than the scheduled time. Denied the authority to extend my appointment times, I would be forced to keep the next family waiting. 😓

I am so grateful to now be in a system where I set the length of my own appointments. I even build in buffer time in between. It's better for me, as the physician, and for my patients!😄
