The Skylight team had a great time coming together for some self care and time to unwind this weekend! 🧘

We’re always grateful for the opportunity to come together as a staff to relax, recharge and spend time together outside of the therapy space. Thanks to Destini Brown for leading us in a group yoga session! It was a nice chance to take a breath, enjoy each other’s company and make space for wellness as a team. 🌱

Take a look back at our first ever Skylight Vintage Fest earlier this summer!

We had an amazing time seeing so much of our Evanston community coming out in support of The Skylight Foundation’s mission of providing accessible, affordable health care to those who need it. We’re grateful to our community partners and all the vendors who joined us to help make this such a great day! We can’t wait to be back next year.

Please join us in welcoming Apoorva Changedia (she/her) to the Skylight Counseling Center team!

After completing her internship at Skylight, Apoorva is joining us as a full-time staff therapist after graduating with her MA in Counseling from Northwestern University. We're so excited to have her back!

Apoorva brings a background in storytelling, journalism and the arts to her work as a therapist. She is deeply interested in the stories we tell about ourselves and the experiences and relationships that shape those stories. Her approach draws from narrative, existential, and psychodynamic perspectives, with room for creativity, curiosity, and even a little laughter along the way.

Apoorva works with individuals navigating identity, anxiety, life transitions, trauma, relationships, and intergenerational patterns. She sees therapy as a collaborative process where clients can explore parts of themselves they may not have had the chance to fully understand, and discover new ways of making meaning in their lives.

Before becoming a therapist, Apoorva worked as a radio host, telling stories about culture, identity, and well-being. Outside the therapy room, she's usually dancing, making something with her hands, or following a good story wherever it takes her.

Welcome to the team, Apoorva! We're so happy to have you at Skylight.

For many college students, a new school year means more than a new class schedule. It can mean moving away from home, adjusting to new relationships, managing greater independence or figuring out who you are in a new environment.

Therapy can provide a space to work through those changes -- whether you're dealing with anxiety or academic stress, navigating relationships and identity or simply trying to find your footing in a new chapter.

If you or a college student in your life could use support this school year, reach out to Skylight to connect with one of our clinicians at skylightcounselingcenter.com

Heading back to school can be a stressful transition, but the return to routines can also create an opportunity to check in on your mental health.

This is often a time of year where people decide to begin or resume their therapy journeys as families settle into new schedules. If you've been thinking about starting therapy or reconnecting with a therapist, the back-to-school season can be a good time to take that step.

If you or someone in your family could use support this school year, reach out to Skylight to connect with one of our clinicians: https://skylightcounselingcenter.com/contacts

Welcome Hélène Stelian (she/her) to the Skylight Counseling Center team! 💙

Hélène believes good therapy begins with a relationship where clients feel genuinely understood and comfortable being honest — even about difficult things. She brings warmth, curiosity and compassion to her work while also being an active therapist, asking questions, offering observations and helping clients consider their experiences from different angles.

Hélène works with adults and couples navigating anxiety and OCD, relationship and family challenges, grief and loss and significant life transitions. She has a particular interest in complicated family relationships, including parents and adult children navigating conflict, changing roles, boundaries, or disconnection.

Hélène completed her clinical training at Skylight, and we’re excited that she is now joining the practice as a staff therapist. She earned her MA in Counseling from The Family Institute at Northwestern University and uses a collaborative, strengths-based approach that draws from cognitive behavioral, acceptance-based, existential, and person-centered therapies.

Hélène tailors therapy to each client, whether that means developing practical tools and strategies, exploring the experiences and relationships that have shaped them, or a combination of both.

Outside of work, Hélène loves crime novels and crime shows, grew up in Paris, and jumped out of an airplane for her 50th birthday. She says it was exhilarating — and enough skydiving for one lifetime. ✈️

Help us give Hélène a warm welcome!

Please join us in welcoming Zoë Miller (she/her) to the Skylight Counseling Center team!

Zoë is a Chicago native and queer-identified therapist who works with adolescents, teens, college students, and adults. She enjoys supporting LGBTQIA+ clients and individuals navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, self-esteem, school-related challenges and questions around identity and belonging.

Drawing from a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach, Zoë incorporates evidence-based modalities including DBT and ACT to help clients build emotional regulation skills while moving toward the life they want to create. Depending on each client's needs, she also integrates creative arts therapies into her work.

Zoë is passionate about building therapeutic relationships grounded in authenticity, respect, and compassion. She strives to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe, connected, and empowered to make meaningful change.

Outside of the therapy room, Zoë enjoys making art, roller skating, and spending time outdoors.

Welcome to the team, Zoë! We're so excited to have you at Skylight. 🌿

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our very first Skylight Vintage Fest this weekend! We’re incredibly grateful to the Evanston community for helping make the event such a success and supporting our mission to make mental health care more accessible and affordable for those who need it most through the The Skylight Foundation.

It was wonderful to see so many people spend the day with us, and we're especially thankful to the local businesses that partnered with us, our dedicated vendors, and, of course, the amazing Skylight Vintage team for bringing it all to life!
