A new school year brings new opportunities for learning, friendship, and connection.

Communication skills are an important part of the classroom experience. They help children share their ideas, understand information, follow directions, and participate with teachers and classmates.

As children return to school, parents and caregivers may notice new questions about speech, language, or communication development.

Debbie Lee is a pediatric speech-language pathologist and learning disabilities specialist with a passion for helping children build the communication and learning skills they need to thrive.

Her work focuses on the connection between speech, language, and learning, and the important role communication plays in a child’s success at school and beyond.

Debbie is especially passionate about supporting school-based speech-language pathologists as advocates and leaders who help create more equitable and effective learning environments for every child.
