A new school year brings new opportunities for learning, friendship, and connection.

Communication skills are an important part of the classroom experience. They help children share their ideas, understand information, follow directions, and participate with teachers and classmates.

As children return to school, parents and caregivers may notice new questions about speech, language, or communication development.

Every child’s path is different. If you have concerns, a speech-language evaluation can provide helpful information about your child’s strengths and areas where additional support may be beneficial.

The Northwestern University Center for Audiology, Speech, Language, and Learning provides evidence-based audiology, speech-language, and learning services for individuals across the lifespan.
