A great asset to our community. A great organization to support!
Eight years ago, Evansville Recovery Alliance began with urgency to intervene during the peak of the opioid overdose crisis, a commitment to our community, and a group of volunteers willing to show up wherever we were needed.
For eight years, ERA has been entirely mobile and volunteer-powered, meeting people where they are literally, breaking down barriers, and doing the work of Harm Reduction one person, one conversation, and one connection at a time.
This year, something incredibly meaningful happened. With the support of the City of Evansville’s opioid settlement funds, we were finally able to establish a permanent home for ERA and for the first time, provide small wages that allow us to invest in the people and infrastructure needed to sustain and grow this work.
The ERA Hub is a testament to resiliency, persistence, and the belief that our community deserves better. It represents our continued commitment to Harm Reduction in Evansville and to creating pathways that make recovery, health, and hope more accessible for everyone at their own pace.
With a space of our own, ERA can now provide more stable, consistent, and private case management, along with access to:
Telehealth & Computer lab
Housing resources
Insurance navigation
Treatment connections
Peer recovery support
Employment navigation
SMART Recovery meetings
Food & Hygiene bank
All under one roof. All without requiring people to overcome unnecessary barriers just to ask for help.
The ERA Hub is a space for meeting people where they are but also for helping people imagine where they can go next.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who believed in ERA when all we had was a determination to keep showing up.
Eight years mobile. Eight years volunteer. And now, a home.
This is just the beginning. ❤️
