SWIRCA & More is Southwestern Indiana's expert on aging, helping seniors and individuals at any age living with disabilities, remain healthy and active so they may age independently at home. As trusted advocates, it is our responsibility to address the immediate needs and concerns of older adults, and provide resources and support services so they may live with dignity and in a setting of their ch

oice. SWIRCA is not a health care provider or government agency. As a social service organization, we provide a holistic response to the needs of seniors in our community. As an Area Agency on Aging, SWIRCA provides innovative answers, comprehensive services, and caring support to the most vulnerable in our community. We help older adults and family caregivers navigate the complexities of accessing in-home and community-based services and long-term care.

SWIRCA & More is honored to be one of 35 organizations selected to receive a 2026 Forward Together GO Grant from the City of Evansville!

Thanks to this investment, SWIRCA will use our $4,000 grant to purchase children's books that celebrate intergenerational bonds, aging, and grandparents. These books will be handed out for free as part of SWIRCA's Celebration of Aging and Intergenerational Relationships Literacy Initiative during our Summer Shindig event in 2027.

This year's program awarded $500,000 to local nonprofits, bringing the City's total investment to $1.5 million over three years
through the Forward Together GO Grants.

We're grateful to Evansville Mayor Stephanie Terry and the City of Evansville for continuing to believe in SWIRCA's mission and investing in organizations working every day to strengthen our community.

We are very proud that our Dementia Friends specialists completed a Dementia Friends Indiana session with 14 members of the Elberfeld Fire Department last night. This is the first Fire Department we’ve done in our area. As they are first to respond to a lot of events, they found this information helpful and were proud to be the 1st Fire Department to become Dementia Friends.

📣Calling all other fire, police, and ambulance departments! 📣
We think you could benefit from this knowledge as well. Reach out to Linda at [email protected] if you are interested in having your team become Dementia Friends as well!

Dillon is a Tax and Valuation Manager at Kemper CPA Group, where he has worked since joining the firm as an intern in 2018 while attending the University of Southern Indiana. Dillon first became involved with SWIRCA & More when a former board member reached out and asked if he would be interested on serving on the board. At the time, Dillon was really looking for an opportunity to start working in the community and already knowing SWIRCA’s reputation throughout the area, he knew it would be a great fit.

SWIRCA’s mission to focus on helping people maintain their independence and dignity really struck home with Dillon. “The ability to live independently has a profound impact on a person's quality of life, and I am inspired by an organization that works to support older adults, individuals with disabilities, and caregivers in achieving that goal. Additionally, I think Resource Links will further assist in SWIRCA’s mission and will provide an even more personal feel to the organization’s services.”

“As Southwest Indiana's aging population continues to grow, organizations like SWIRCA are becoming increasingly important. What stands out to me is the dedication of the staff, who truly care about improving the lives of seniors, individuals with disabilities, and caregivers. Their impact on our community is invaluable.” Outside of work and board service, Dillon loves to spend time with his wife, Mackenzie, and two boys, Brooks (3), and Brady (1).
