One full year of keeping promises to myself. 🤍

The woman on the left was tired.

Not just “I need more sleep” tired. She was a worn-out postpartum mom, 13 months after having her last baby, still breastfeeding, exhausted, and running on fumes.

The previous six years had held four pregnancies, two babies in heaven, two beautiful baby girls earthside, and a total of four years of breastfeeding.

My body had carried me through all of it.

But I had poured so much of myself into everyone else that somewhere along the way, I stopped showing up for me.

Then one day, I was sitting on the floor with my baby and realized I was struggling just to get myself back up.

That moment changed something in me.

I made myself a promise:

Every morning, I would make a date with myself.
I would stop breaking promises to myself.
I would show up—even when I didn’t feel like it.

And for the last 365 days, I have.

I started prioritizing protein. I added low-dose tirzepatide as a tool. I started lifting heavy weights. And most importantly, I kept showing up.

The progress wasn’t overnight. In fact, sometimes it felt painfully slow.

Not all PDO thread lifts are created equal.

A PDO thread lift isn’t just about placing threads—it’s about understanding facial anatomy, choosing the right vector of lift, and knowing how to create natural-looking support while preserving your unique facial expression.

These photos show a before, immediately after, and just 2 weeks later. While you’ll often see an instant lift, the real magic continues over the next several weeks as swelling resolves and your body begins producing new collagen around the threads.

What to expect after a PDO Thread Lift:

My name is Nicole Poor, FNP-C, CANS, and I am so excited to be part of the amazing team at Evansville Dermatology!

I graduated from the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and have spent the last 10 years practicing in plastic surgery and aesthetic medicine. During that time, I was the primary aesthetic provider in my practice, helping thousands of patients achieve natural, beautiful results through Botox, dermal fillers, biostimulators, PDO thread lifts, laser treatments, microneedling, chemical peels, medical-grade skincare, and personalized treatment plans.

One of the accomplishments I’m most proud of is earning my CANS (Certified Aesthetic Nurse Specialist) credential. CANS is considered one of the highest certifications in aesthetic medicine and is awarded to providers who demonstrate advanced knowledge, experience, and expertise in facial anatomy, cosmetic injectables, lasers, skin rejuvenation, patient safety, and evidence-based aesthetic treatments. It’s a certification that reflects my commitment to continuing education and providing the highest standard of care to every patient I treat.

While aesthetics has always been my passion, I also have a deep appreciation for skin cancer prevention and early detection. I firmly believe that routine skin cancer screenings save lives, and I’m honored to help patients protect not only the health of their skin but their overall well-being.
