What exactly is a herniated disc?
A spinal disc has a soft center surrounded by a tougher outer layer. When some of that inner material pushes outward, it can irritate a nearby nerve and lead to symptoms like back or neck pain, tingling, numbness, weakness, or pain that travels into an arm or leg.
The good news is that many people improve with conservative care. Depending on your symptoms, treatment may include chiropractic care, physical therapy, spinal decompression, and guided exercise.
If youโre dealing with radiating pain, numbness, or recurring back pain, an evaluation can help identify what may be contributing.
