Murphy & Murphy Counseling is proud to announce our recent partnership with the Herbert Volunteer Fire Department to provide support during crisis situations involving severe trauma and/or loss of life. Randal Brown was instrumental in coordinating and facilitating this partnership. We want to offer our sincere appreciation to him for taking such action in the name of addressing mental health!

First responders and volunteer departments are often called to help others through some of life’s most difficult moments. Our goal is to be available to help support responders, individuals, families, and communities when those moments occur. Randal Brown wants to see this expanded to support the entire county.

⭐PTSD MYTH
Many people think Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) only affects people who have been to war.
PTSD FACT ✅
PTSD can affect anyone who has experienced or witnessed a traumatic event.

It can develop after:
• Physical or sexual abuse
• Domestic violence
• Serious accidents
• Natural disasters
• Childhood trauma
• Sudden loss of a loved one
• Medical emergencies
• Violence, crime, or community conflict

PTSD is not limited to the battlefield. Trauma can happen anywhere, and its effects can last long after the event is over.

The more we understand PTSD, the better we can support those living with it. 💚
