Two of RiverWoods own recently received scholarships from the New Hampshire Long Term Care Foundation to support their nursing education.

Emma works as a Licensed Nursing Assistant at RiverWoods Manchester and picks up per-diem shifts at RiverWoods Exeter while pursuing her nursing education. RiverWoods Exeter Diet Aide Annabelle is also working toward a nursing degree and was unable to attend the celebration in person, but her mother was there to step in on her behalf! RiverWoods Manchester Assistant Director of Health Services, Bernadette Crenshaw and Senior Director of Health Services Michele Melanson Schmitt also joined the Foundation’s dinner to celebrate.

Emma and Annabelle, we’re cheering you on as you continue learning, growing, and strengthening the future of of the field. Congratulations!

It’s CapEx walk season at RiverWoods! Each fall, an interdisciplinary team comes together to look at our communities with fresh eyes and identify opportunities for improvement. As a not-for-profit, reinvestment in our campuses means looking beyond today and thinking about how the places we call home can continue to serve the people who live here.

This year, the team kicked things off with at the Woods before hitting the grounds and the halls across all three campuses for a full day of big-picture thinking, noticing the little things, and a whole lot of steps!

We loved hitting the road with Northeast Passage last week!

🚲💙 Celebrating Active Aging Week!
Today, Northeast Passage was with the RiverWoods Exeter community at the Portsmouth Rail Trail, getting residents out on the bikes and introducing them to a variety of adaptive cycles designed to make cycling fun, enjoyable, and safe for people of all ages and abilities.

Because there’s no age limit on getting outside, and enjoying the freedom of a good bike ride! 🚲

We set the fundraising goal. You helped us exceed it.

Here’s a little glimpse of the magic that took place at Illuminate Tomorrow, the twelfth RiverWoods Gala.

Together, we surpassed our initial fundraising goal of $250,000 in support of Seacoast Dementia Hub and its cost-free services for caregivers across New Hampshire.

We’re still finalizing the total, but one thing is abundantly clear: this community shows up. You showed up for caregivers. You showed up for your neighbors. And you showed up for a community where no one has to navigate dementia alone.

Whether you attended, sponsored, or donated, you made this night a little brighter. Your generosity will help Seacoast Dementia Hub continue connecting caregivers and families with trusted guidance, resources, education and support all at no cost to them.

Eight years after our last gala, we couldn’t have imagined a better way to bring this tradition back.

On Saturday, Oct. 3, Jay Allen will share his family’s story and perform “Blank Stares” at the Illuminate Tomorrow gala. We are thrilled to bring this "The Voice" alum and nationally recognized dementia advocate to New Hampshire.

Proceeds from the event will support the continued work of Seacoast Dementia Hub while helping raise awareness so more caregivers know that support is available.

When we decided to bring the RiverWoods gala back after eight years, we shared our vision for a night dedicated to caregivers and their loved ones living with dementia with our partners and they stepped up with some big support.

Our Mission Sponsors are helping make this night possible to support the work of the Seacoast Dementia Hub, which connects caregivers with resources, guidance and, most importantly, someone who understands what this journey can bring.
