emmy did great at her adoption event today. she’s a very scared traumatized puppy mill mama so this was a big deal for both of us. me taking her to this event was a huge stressor… getting her out the door, worried about how she will handle the situation. her going was a huge stress on her. but we both needed to do this. we both needed to be exposed to the discomfort and get through it. guess what… 5 minutes into the car ride from my home i had to pull over and clean up the p**p in the back seat…. and her butt! she was so nervous. but we kept going. i know many of my clients feel this way bringing babies into the office. i was there too… with my babies. it’s really scary to do it all alone the first time. i try to set up a safe space for you to get that trip under your belt. my appointments are 60-90 minutes and if you’re late you’re late. if we run over and i have another client, i have so much space in my office that i can move you to a different room that you can stay in while i take my next client. there’s no rush out the door. there will always be new challenges and new discomfort and things to push through.

I got home late last night after seeing Ani DiFranco in concert. Got a few hours of sleep. my kids are grown, but I have three dogs and a (high maintenance) foster dog to take care of in the morning. While attending a meeting online, I grabbed the whole loaf of my good girls sourdough bread, my Wegmans caramelized onion hummus, and my Giant mixed berries, threw it in a bag and ran out the door for work! so here’s my all day buffet! Grabbing hunks of sourdough, dipping it in hummus in between clients! Have you tried the Wegmans caramelized onion, hummus? If not, I highly recommend it and there’s something about this Giant prepped mixed berry fruit. It’s always so delicious.
