MORE THAN ANYTHING, we are thankful for the what the future brings!

Six years ago, Aurora Audiology began with a vision, a little courage, and no way of knowing exactly where the journey would lead. Today, we get to look back with gratitude at everything we've built together, but MORE THAN EVER, we look forward with excitement to everything still ahead.

There will always be more to learn, new ways to grow, and new opportunities to better serve Interior Alaska. But one thing won't change: our commitment to providing thoughtful, compassionate hearing healthcare and building genuine relationships with the people who walk through our doors.

Celebrating SIX years with SIX things we are thankful for: YOUR STORIES!

Some of our favorite moments over the past six years haven't been about writing reports or collecting data.... they've been about connecting through conversation and improving quality of life through hearing. It's asking a patient about their recent caribou hunt, hearing about a gold-panning adventure, or catching up after a visit from the grandchildren. It's hearing that someone feels comfortable joining the conversation again, has returned to a favorite activity, or can understand their spouse without quite so many “whadddya say?” These stories are why we do what we do. Better hearing isn't simply about sound; it's about staying connected to the people, places, adventures, and everyday moments that make life meaningful.

Celebrating SIX years with SIX things we are thankful for: OUR FAMLIES!

Six years ago, when Dr. Hughes decided, somewhat on a whim, to open Aurora Audiology, her family stepped with her into the unknown (all the way from Vermont). There was no roadmap and certainly no guarantee of what the future would hold, just a vision for what hearing healthcare could look like in Interior Alaska! We are equally grateful for the families behind every member of our team who share their people with Aurora each day. Our families may not always be inside the clinic, but they have been an important part of our story from the very beginning.

September 11, 2001: A day that changed our world forever.

These photographs are especially meaningful. These photographs are from when Dr. Hughes visited the World Trade Center on a high school fieldtrip just a few months before September 11th, a moment captured before any of us could have imagined how profoundly the world would soon change.

Today, we remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost, the families whose lives were forever altered, and the first responders, service members, and ordinary people who demonstrated extraordinary courage in the days, months, and years that followed.

Twenty-five years later, we honor their memory and reflect on the resilience, compassion, and unity that emerged from an unimaginable tragedy.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

We are grateful for the people who show up each day ready to learn, problem-solve, laugh, support one another, and care for our patients. Today, we recognize the hard work, dedication, and contributions of workers who help keep our communities strong.

Here in Interior Alaska, we know that hard work is part of who we are, and we’re especially grateful for the incredible people who dedicate their time and talents to caring for, supporting, building, and serving our community every day.
