UPDATE: Crane ops has concluded early and south entrance has reopened! Thank you for everyone’s continued support!

To our valued patients,

Please be advised that the DGMC South Entrance will be temporarily closed and have limited or no pedestrian foot traffic effective June 5, 2026 (Friday) @ 6 a.m. through June 8, 2026 (Monday) @ 7 p.m.. This is due to major crane lift operations as part of the DGMC Medical Repair & Renewal project to replace Air Handling Units. The operation involves heavy equipment mobilization, and the safety and wellbeing of our patients and staff are our highest priorities.

• For Routine or Specialty Care Appointments & Inpatient Wards: Patients & visitors are encouraged to use alternative entrances (North Main Entrance) and parking lots throughout the DGMC campus.
• Emergency Rooms (ER) – For Life threatening conditions, ER operations will continue as normal with parking in lot B and D for overflow (see attachment).
• Nurse Advice Line: Available 24/7 for health-related questions.
- Contact: 1-800-TRICARE (1-800-874-2273)

💡 Did You Know?

The 60th Medical Group at David Grant Medical Center is transforming deployment readiness through its Continuous Medical Readiness model allowing Airmen to complete key readiness requirements in a single coordinated visit.

By streamlining medical readiness tasks, the CMR model reduces time away from the mission, accelerates deployability updates, and helps Airmen stay ready to answer the call when needed. Early results show the program saves nearly 20 man-hours per Airman while improving the readiness experience. ✈️💪

The Defense Health Agency is here to help service members, families, retirees, and veterans access support, treatment, and care that can help restore hope and reconnect people with life beyond trauma. ❤️‍🩹

If you’re struggling quietly today, remember this:

✨ You are worth fighting for.
✨ Your story matters.
✨ Your healing matters.
✨ And asking for help is strength.

Recognizing Excellence in Patient Safety and Ready Reliable Care

Please join us in recognizing recent Defense Health Agency award recipients whose actions reflect the culture of safety, accountability, and high reliability that define the 60th Medical Group.

The awards were presented by Col. Patrick Parsons, commander, 60th Medical Group, in recognition of both team and individual achievements that exemplify Ready Reliable Care in action.

The nurses and technicians of the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, Medical-Surgical Unit, and Laboratory were recognized through the Defense Health Agency Ready Reliable Care Reliability in Action program for exemplifying the principle of Sensitivity to Operations through collaborative efforts to reduce blood culture contamination and improve patient safety outcomes across David Grant Medical Center. Through standardized device use, cross-section training, and data-driven process improvement, the team reduced contamination rates to a low of 0.81%, helping reduce unnecessary treatments, costs, and extended hospital stays while strengthening patient care.

A1C Juana Conde was also recognized as a Defense Health Agency Patient Safety Champion for her dedication to patient advocacy and commitment to doing the right thing when it mattered most. Her willingness to think critically, speak up, and coordinate emergency transport for a high-risk patient helped prevent further adverse outcomes and reflected the sound judgment and accountability that strengthen a culture of safety.

Whether through team-based process improvement or individual acts of patient advocacy, these recognitions highlight the shared commitment of our Golden Bear Medics to delivering safe, reliable care every day for our patients and beneficiaries.
