I know how turbulent and unhealthy parental relationships can be, which makes me even more appreciative of the solid and unconditional relationship I have with my Mother. My gorgeous Mom turned 70 years old on July 18, 2022. Our family gathered together recently to celebrate and honor her with love & gratitude.
My Mom is my role model and the matriarch of our family. Because of her, we are who we are, and our significant others and children reap the benefits of her existence. We are blessed with her natural gifts of love, loyalty, strength, caregiving, thoughtfulness, and strong faith in God.
Mom, there are no amount of words, gifts, or celebrations that could ever repay you for everything you do for me and our entire growing family. Your generous and graciously giving heart is one of the many things that stand out about you; you never expect or ask for anything in return.
Now that I’m 29 weeks pregnant with my first child, my personal perspectives on womanhood and motherhood have evolved. I admire you even more for everything you endured for your children, the way you raised us, and how you continue to nurture our own families and children.
As you get older, I think more about how much I love hearing your soothing voice, seeing your beautiful face, feeling your comforting touch, and the way you selflessly provide me & David (and our expected baby boy) with your loving support and delicious & healthy cooking. I get emotional thinking about how blessed and fortunate our entire family is to still have you in our lives. I love watching you develop unique & strong relationships with each of our families, and creating special bonds with your grandchildren. I couldn't ask for anything more.
I am so thankful for you. I am so proud to call you my Mom. I love you so very much.
