Our online check-in system makes it easier to prepare for your child’s visit before you arrive.

Prior to your appointment, you may receive a link to complete forms such as updating medical history, reviewing medications, confirming insurance information, and signing required consents.

Completing these steps ahead of time can help reduce wait times at check-in and allow more time to focus on your child’s visit.

If you have trouble accessing or completing online check-in, our front desk team is happy to assist when you arrive.

Water play can be a fun way for toddlers to cool off and explore during warmer months, but even small amounts of water can pose a safety risk. Toddlers should always have close, hands-on adult supervision during any water activity, including splash pads, kiddie pools, water tables, and buckets.

Water tables, small pools, and buckets should be emptied immediately after use to help prevent accidental drowning risks.

At splash pads and public play areas, watch carefully for slippery surfaces, standing water, and crowded environments where children can quickly wander.

Floaties and puddle jumpers should never replace direct adult supervision. While some flotation devices may add a layer of protection, the safest approach is always active, attentive supervision within arm’s reach.

Have questions about water safety for your toddler? Contact one of our phone nurses today for guidance before summer activities begin.

Some insurance plans require a referral from a primary care provider before a visit with a specialist will be covered.

This helps ensure that care is coordinated, medically necessary, and directed to the appropriate specialist. Some insurance companies may also require that a child has an up-to-date wellness visit before a referral can be completed.

When a referral is needed, our office works to gather the required information, submit documentation to your insurance, and coordinate with the specialist’s office. This process can take time depending on the plan and the type of referral.

Please call one of our staff today if you need more information about a referral or ask to schedule an appointment to discuss with a provider.

Milk protein allergy can occur in some infants when their immune system reacts to proteins found in cow’s milk. This can affect both formula-fed and breastfed babies.

Common signs may include blood or mucus in the stool, frequent vomiting or reflux-like symptoms, significant fussiness or irritability after feeds, diarrhea, or poor weight gain. Symptoms can vary in severity and may develop over time.

If milk protein allergy is suspected, it is important to discuss concerns with your child’s provider before making changes to formula or diet. Evaluation and guidance can help ensure your baby continues to receive appropriate nutrition while addressing symptoms.

If you notice concerning symptoms, contact Fairhope Pediatrics to review feeding history and next steps.

Around twelve months, many babies are becoming more mobile, interactive, and engaged with their surroundings.

While every child develops at their own pace, there are several common milestones parents may begin to notice during this stage.

Common twelve month milestones may include:
- Pulling to stand and cruising along furniture
- Taking first steps or beginning to walk
- Saying simple words like “mama” or “dada” with meaning
- Waving, clapping, or using simple gestures
- Following simple directions
- Showing interest in exploring objects and their environment

Remember that development can vary from child to child, and some skills may appear earlier or later than others.

If you have questions about your child’s development or milestones, bring to your child’s one year visit at Fairhope Pediatrics so progress can be reviewed together.

Mood changes are common after having a baby. Hormone shifts, sleep deprivation, and adjusting to a new routine can all affect how parents feel in the early weeks and months.

At times, extra support may be helpful. Signs to watch for include persistent sadness, anxiety, irritability, feeling overwhelmed, difficulty bonding with your baby, or feeling unlike yourself. These experiences are common and treatable, and they do not mean you are doing anything wrong.

Talking openly about mental health is an important part of caring for both parent and baby.

If you are feeling overwhelmed or not like yourself, reach out to your medical team or contact [XYZ Pediatrics] to discuss support and available resources.
