Richard James George

The world has lost the kindest and most loving man when Rick George passed away unexpectedly on August 27 surrounded by the family that loved him deeply. His strong faith was quiet, steady and deeply personal. He was a devoted husband, a loving and caring father, a good son and brother and a true friend to all that were lucky to know him. Rick loved to travel with his wife Kathy and visited 27 countries and traveled throughout the US. For over 20 years he would travel with his entire family, including both daughters, his mom and dad, his sister and his sister-in-law. The memories of these family trips will last forever and they are filled with his love and lots and lots of laughter. He taught at Kent Schools for 32 years and thoroughly loved doing special projects with his students.

Rick found total joy in just living life to its fullest in everything he did. He lived each day being thankful for his family and good friends. He faced every hardship with a quiet strength and remarkable grace. Rick loved to play basketball which he did often and he enjoyed watching all sports, especially Ohio State which was his favorite team. He coached softball in Norton for both of his daughters Rachael and Megan for ten years.

Rick is preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Rosemary George. He will always be remembered by his wife of 56 years Kathy, two daughters, Rachael George and Megan (Neal) Synder, and his sister Catherine George. He also had many extended family members, dear friends and former colleagues whose lives were enriched by his laughter, kindness, wisdom and generous love.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place September 11, 2026 at 1:00pm at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church located at 4022 Johnson Rd. Norton, OH 44203. A Celebration of Rick's life will continue immediately following the Mass at Houston Hall located at 3069 Houston Rd. Norton, OH 44203. In honor of Rick's love for Ohio State all attendees are encouraged to wear their OSU attire to the service.

Dorris Daye Patterson

Dorris Tillinghast Patterson, born on September 3, 1943, in Barberton, Ohio, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 5, 2026 at the age of 82. Her life was a testament to her faith, love, and dedication, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Dorris was a gifted hair stylist who owned "My Fair Lady" in Fairlawn for many years, where her clients were not only patrons, but friends who cherished her artistry and warmth. More recently, she brought joy and care to the residents at the Inn at Belden Village where she owned the salon there also.

Her professional journey included 16 esteemed years as an office coordinator at Petry and Walton Dental Group where her positive and friendly demeanor were highly valued.

Her life was deeply rooted in her faith and dedication to daily Bible reading, journaling and Bible studies.

She also loved attending Christian concerts with her many friends where she found inspiration and connection through music. She was a member of many church choirs where she sang praises with a spirit that uplifted all around her. She also belonged to Toastmasters, Bath Garden Club, Gnomes, Grace Ladies Group, and the Women's Care and Prayer Group.

Surviving her are her beloved family and friends, including her children, David (Susie) Wagoner, Whitney Tillinghast III, her grandson Whitney Tillinghast IV, her sister Sherri (Loren) Petry, sister-in-law Ellie Kasserman and many nieces and nephews. They will forever cherish her legacy, love, faith and kindness.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at Grace

Church in Norton, located at 3970 S. Cleveland-Massillon Road, Norton, Ohio 44203. Friends are invited to join us in honoring and remembering the inspirational life of Dorris.

Cynthia Roberts-Andrea

Cynthia Roberts-Andrea passed away surrounded by the love of her family. She shared 31 years of marriage with her husband, Douglas Andrea, building a life filled with family and memories.

Cynthia had a long and dedicated career as a Warehouse Manager and Parts Analyst for Mosler Inc. and Diebold Inc. in Hamilton, Ohio. She was also a woman who followed her passions. In January 2011, Cynthia became a Certified Pet Groomer, combining her love and compassion for animals with her desire to care for them.

Outside of her professional life, Cynthia found joy and fulfillment in sewing, embroidery, and quilting. Her creativity and attention to detail were reflected in the many beautiful things she made and shared with those around her.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Clark-Roberts, and her father, Wallace Roberts.

She is survived by her extended family, including her son and daughter-in-law, Troy Wallace Roberts and Sarah Whitaker-Roberts; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Kari Kay and Scott Baderman; and stepson and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Aubrie Andrea.

She leaves behind eight grandchildren: Connor Rae, Corbin Wallace, Amber, Stephanie, Hannah, Luke, Daniel, and Dylan; and three great-grandchildren: Thomas, Lillian, and Rosalie.

Cynthia will be remembered for the love she gave to her family, her creative spirit, her dedication to her work, and especially her compassion for animals.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a local ASPCA or dog rescue center in Cynthia's memory.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and all who knew and loved her.

Olene S. Graveno

Olene S. Graveno, age 82, passed away on August 25, 2026. She was born on August 8, 1944 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania to the late Samuel and Mary Volpe. She enjoyed gardening and family gatherings.

Preceded in death by her sister, Rita Volpe; she is survived by her husband of 54 years, John; brothers, Rudy and Samuel Volpe; niece and nephews, Paris, Grant and Chris Volpe.

Memorial service will be 11:00am Saturday, September 5, at Hummel Funeral Home, 3475 Copley Rd. Copley, Ohio 44321.

Jeffrey Jonathan Wable

Jeffrey Jonathan Wable, age 66, passed away on August 21, 2026 after a brief illness.

Jeff was born on October 17, 1959, in Boston, Massachusetts, however, he resided in Akron, Ohio most of his life. He and his wife Becky met in September of 1985 and became friends immediately. Life took them on different paths, but time brought them back together years later. Jeff and Becky were married on June 15, 2024, in a small ceremony surrounded by family and friends. The happy couple were all smiles and danced the night away!

In 1977, Jeff graduated from Firestone High School and went on to attend the University of Akron. Jeff was an amazing athlete. In high school, he was recognized as an All-City athlete in football. He later became interested in running and cycling and excelled in both. Jeff participated in countless races and once he crossed the finish line, would go back to help others finish. He rode his bike everywhere and retired from Eddy's Bike Shop after 25 years of service. Jeff was an incredible photographer and did work for several commercial contracts as well as taking great joy in candid shots of his sons, friends, Becky, and their "hounds"; Tatey Bear, Spike, and [deceased] Chumdog. He loved being outdoors; camping, kayaking, and fishing.

Jeff was thoughtful, witty, bright, and extremely funny. He was known to do random acts of kindness. Jeff doted on Becky. On the days that Becky went to work, Jeff always packed her lunch and surprised her often by bringing her coffee from Dunkin' Donuts or sending her flowers. Becky and Jeff relished running and biking together, walking their dogs, going to dinner, entertaining friends, and traveling to their favorite spot, Ocracoke Island, North Carolina. Jeff was the love of her life, and he will forever be part of Becky's heart and soul.

Jeff is survived by his loving wife Becky, son Jacob Wable, granddaughters Iris and C.J. Wable, brother and sisters; Jack (Elizabeth) Wable, Marla Wable Bell, Mary Theresa Wable, Marilyn Neal Daylor, sister-in-law, Tammy Davis, former wife, Jane (Lutz) Wable Tomei, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Mary (Vatalaro) Wable, son, Maxwell Wable, brother, James Wable, and niece, Macey Sampson.

The family will receive family and friends on September 1, 2026, from 3:00pm until 5:00pm at Hummel Funeral Home, 2800 W. Market St., Fairlawn, Ohio, 44333. A memorial service will be held directly after the calling hours at 5:00pm. In lieu of flowers, Jeff would have preferred you support your favorite charity.
