✨ **Self-Care Is More Than Bubble Baths** ✨

When people hear the words *self-care*, they often picture spa days, candles, or taking a relaxing bath. While those things can absolutely be part of self-care, true self-care goes much deeper.

Sometimes self-care looks like:
💙 Setting healthy boundaries.
💙 Saying "no" without feeling guilty.
💙 Asking for help when you need it.
💙 Processing difficult emotions instead of avoiding them.
💙 Prioritizing sleep, nutrition, and movement.
💙 Letting go of perfectionism.
💙 Giving yourself the same compassion you offer everyone else.

Therapy is one of the most meaningful forms of self-care because it creates space to understand yourself, heal from past experiences, build healthier coping skills, and create lasting change. It's not about "fixing" what's broken—it's about investing in your emotional well-being and learning how to navigate life's challenges with greater confidence and resilience.

Remember, taking care of your mental health isn't selfish—it's essential. When you care for yourself, you're better able to care for the people and responsibilities that matter most.

It’s beautiful outside, go for a walk! Did you know that getting outside and moving your body greatly impacts your mental health too? It increases dopamine, decreases anxiety and gets your brain some added blood flow to increase cognitive function!

If getting outside and moving is hard for you, let’s do it together! Walk and Talk therapy is a good way to move for 45 mins while also getting in your therapy. We can set goals around movement, lowering anxiety levels and increasing your energy levels.

Interested in getting started? Give me a call or shoot me an email and we’ll talk.

Did you know that:

✨ 1 in 5 adults experience a mental health condition each year.

✨Mental health is just as important as physical health.

✨Seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

✨Small steps—like talking to someone, getting rest, or taking a break—can make a big difference.

You don’t have to do it alone. Support is out there.

Life changes can be exciting—but they can also feel overwhelming.

Adjustment Disorder is a very real and common response to stressful life transitions like divorce, job changes, moving, relationship challenges, or loss. You might notice increased anxiety, sadness, irritability, or feeling like things are harder to manage than usual.

The good news? You don’t have to navigate it alone.

Therapy can help you process what you’re going through, build coping skills, and regain a sense of balance and control. Reaching out for support is a strong and meaningful step toward healing.
If you or someone you know is struggling with a recent life change, I’m here to help!

Mindset is everything! Having a growth mindset changes the way the brain processes information. Small steps, like changing our words, allows our brains to believe we are capable.

As a therapist, I gently challenge fixed thoughts that have been ingrained in your belief system and help you to find growth. I recognize this is a slow process and work with clients to take small steps to find growth, change and satisfaction within themselves.

Get to know me!

I am a pre-licensed therapist with extensive experience working with complex family dynamics, including divorce, co-parenting, foster care, adoption, and broader family relationship challenges. I earned my Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Sociology from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and my Master of Arts in Counseling and Psychological Services from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. I will be taking my licensure exam for the LPCC (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor) in the coming months.

For the past 14 months, I have been providing telehealth services and am excited to begin offering in-person sessions in the Martin County area. I strive to meet each client where they are, while also asking meaningful and sometimes challenging questions to support growth and progress toward their goals.

I deeply value the trust my clients place in me. It is an honor to celebrate your successes alongside you and to hold space during life’s more difficult moments. I look forward to continuing to serve our community by expanding access to mental health support.
