It’s hard to believe it’s almost August, but we’re celebrating every second of July with FMC’s July Employee of the Month, Melissa Hoskinson!

Melissa is a clinical preceptor who has been with us for six years. Those six years have been anything but boring, and Melissa loves that each workday is different from the one before.

“It is rewarding to see new employees progress from feeling uncertain and inexperienced to becoming confident team members who make meaningful contributions to our unit,” she said.

When she’s not here being awesome, Melissa loves to travel (especially to the beach) and spend time with her family and dogs.

Congratulations, Melissa!

By now, you’ve seen the shocking photos and video of the devastating floods affecting Lewis and Upshur counties. As most of us can attest, cameras can never quite capture the scale and magnitude of natural disasters.

The Red Cross, Huntington Bank, and West Virginia Radio Corporation have partnered to raise support for our affected neighbors a few counties away.

Today, we ask you to consider a gift to help ongoing flood relief efforts. There’s no better time then now: Huntington Bank will match donations made through the link below dollar-for-dollar, up to $25,000.

West Virginians step up to help each other; it’s just who we are. Please join us in keeping that tradition alive.

Please join WVRC Media in supporting the lifesaving efforts of the American Red Cross.

This incredible scalp cooling technology soon come to the WVU Cancer Institute at Fairmont Medical Center.

💙 More options. More hope. More care.

We are expanding access to scalp-cooling therapy at our cancer centers across the region, giving more patients receiving chemotherapy the opportunity to help reduce hair loss during treatment.

Pictured is Vicki Barcley, a staffing clerk at Camden Clark Medical Center who was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year. During her treatment at the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center, Vicki used a scalp-cooling system designed to help preserve hair throughout chemotherapy.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our donors, scalp-cooling systems are now available at six regional sites, with additional locations coming throughout the year. These innovative devices may help patients preserve their hair, offering not only a treatment option, but also a greater sense of confidence and normalcy during one of life's most difficult journeys. 💛
