August recap!

Top 5 Picks (3 way tie for #1) 🀷🀷🀷 and really 6 🀣🀣🀣

1. The Sideways Life of Denny Voss
1. The Nightingale
1. Wayward Girls
2. Finding Grace (very 😱😱😱 first chapter)
3. The Great Wherever (struggled with who was narrating but cool premise/perspectives)
3. Prodigal Summer (very flora/fauna driven and made me want to pay attention to the world of nature)

I am not intentionally trying to only share my 5 paw reads, but this is one I have thought about often after reading it, which is usually why a book gets 5 paws to begin with.

What if one simple decision could change everything? Florence Knapp, in her debut novel, takes the choice of a baby's name and turns it into a fascinating exploration of fate, family, and the lives we might have lived.

This book made me think about all the tiny decisions that shape our lives. A fascinating "what if" story that explores how one choice can create entirely different paths.

I think it most resonated with me because it is one of the choices in our lives that we never get to actually make. We don't get to choose our own name.

If you have read it share what you think!

You don't need to give us a full blown review, but maybe give a πŸ‘ or a πŸ‘Žin your comment!

I am currently reading the Vanishing Half and I can give neither as I quite literally just started it!

Another 5 paw read for me. Mostly because it stayed with me long after I finished it and really caused me to question so very much.

Described as a story of hope, solidarity and the enduring strength of young women who find the courage to break free and seek redemption and justice. It's ultimately about the strength of women who refuse to be defined by what happened to them.
Kudos Susan Wiggs.

Have you read this? What did you think?

I am embarrassed to say that I have yet to do a review on here of one of his books, but that is because it's been a hot minute since I have had one in my paws, but I am a BIG BIG fan of Charles Martin.

I have not read them all but the ones I have, I have been deeply immersed in the storytelling. They are deeply emotional character driven stories that appeal to me greatly.

My top 3 reads of his (so far):
When Crickets Cry
Chasing Fireflies
Wrapped In Rain

There are things animals understand far better than humans.

Things animals understand better than humans:Joy- A dog can hear the word "outside" every day and still react like it has received a personal invitation to Narnia. Meanwhile, humans need a coffee, a pay raise, and seven unread messages to feel "alive."Talking life slowly- Cows can stand in a field c...

A million ways have been invented to save time...and yet we never seem to have enough of it.

Thousands, I mean thousands of ways to save time have been created. In my lifetime alone. And yet we never have enough of it. Think about this. Apps, washing machines, cars, dishwashers, email, grocery pick-up, grocery delivery, same day shipping. Things that used to take hours and days, take minute...

4 instead of 5 🐾 because I had so many questions, which was probably the point but it frustrated me.

It's been a minute since I have blogged. I may be a little rusty. Never too late to start again I say. I have struggled with my "identity" for as long as I can remember. I mean even as a child. And that is probably because I have ALWAYS felt it had less to do with "what we do for a living" than "who...
