Charlie Quintal will be remembered as a gifted musician, entertainer, and kind soul whose love for music touched generations throughout the South Coast and beyond. A lifelong friend to many, Charlie’s passion for performing began as a teenager, singing and playing music with friends in school hallways before going on to form bands that would entertain audiences across the Northeast for decades. Whether opening for legendary performers, sharing the stage with fellow local musicians, or simply playing benefit shows for causes close to his heart, Charlie never cared about recognition or money as much as he cared about bringing joy to others through music.

From the dressing rooms of some of entertainment’s biggest stars to opening shows for legendary performers, Charlie left his mark everywhere he went. Yet through it all, he remained proudly rooted in Fall River, a shining local talent whose name and music became known and loved throughout the community.

Beyond music, Charlie had a lifelong passion for classic cars and drag racing. Throughout his life, cars became his second career, from fixing them in his younger years, to owning a car radio shop, and later spending more than 35 years as the owner of his own used car dealership. He always had one or two classic cars or drag race cars nearby, and his love for classic cars and trucks was only rivaled by his love of music. Charlie could often be found at New England Dragway in New Hampshire, where he continued drag racing regularly up until last year, doing what he loved most.

Friends and family will remember not only his incredible voice and musicianship, but also his unmistakable smile, quick wit, humility, and generous heart. Known for his soft-spoken nature and genuine kindness, Charlie made everyone around him feel like family. His music, laughter, and unforgettable presence will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

WESTPORT- Our hearts are broken as we say goodbye to Charles Quintal Jr., age 80, who passed at Brigham Hospital on May 23, 2026. Born in Fall River, he was the beloved son to the late Charles and Hilda Medeiros Quintal. Charlie Quintal will be remembered as a gifted musician,
