Kimwell celebrated “National Certified Nursing Assistant Week” and had a cookout for the staff. The Director of Nursing handed out tote bags and name badge reels to thank all of our C.N.A.’s for their hard work and dedication.

Today we ended Nursing Home Week at Kimwell with a Patriotic Theme and Memorial Service to remember all of the loved ones that we have lost. Residents, families, and staff gathered together for the service. We saluted the flag and played, “Proud to be an American” for all to sing. We had a nice speech from our Assistant Director of Nursing, Megan Reilly, to remember anyone who has passed at Kimwell and in the military. She also included the 250th celebration of America and the adoption of the Declaration of Independence this year. To end the ceremony, Larry Araujo planted a rhododendron shrub in front of Kimwell as a remembrance of all loved ones. We had ice cream sandwiches and red, white, and blue popsicles for refreshments.
Residents and staff dressed in red, white, and blue and “seeds of kindness” were passed out for everyone to plant in memory of a loved one.
We also played a game called “Be a Star” and if anyone tossed a star into the Star dish, they won a prize. Ty to everyone for a nice week!

We celebrated Hawaiian day at Kimwell and had a cookout for residents and staff and Sports day where we had a concession stand with snacks for all staff.
