I had my post-op appointment today and everything looks great and my pain level is like a 1, so I feel very fortunate. The surgeon and I had multiple discussions about the sciatic nerve and he did his job well by avoiding it at all costs.

However, my brace still remains at 90 degrees. Ugh. It will go down a few notches next week at PT. Super awkward and annoying, but necessary.

Be thankful for your ability to take a bath, a shower without drama, putting your shoes on, putting your underwear on without gyrating like a windmill, etc… I could go on.

Just wanted to check in and say thank you for your thoughts and good wishes! My surgery went well and I am in recovery with a large and awkward brace for 6 weeks. Wow, I'm really feeling the frustration that some of you have felt from injuries! Looking at August as a return to clinic time, depending on recovery. Love you all.

Hi folks! It turns out that I have a complete avulsion of the hamstring and will need surgery. I will be wrapping up my VA patients and then headed toward surgery and recovery. Please check back in mid-August!
