Lifting heavy can be a powerful tool during perimenopause.

Progressive strength training can help preserve muscle, support bone health, and build the strength you need for everyday life. And “heavy” is personal. It means choosing a challenging weight for you and progressing safely over time.

How do they move? What are their goals? What makes exercise feel intimidating?

Those questions help shape our approach to fitness at Body Dynamics.

We’re looking for a fitness professional who can assess movement, use research to inform exercise plans, and adjust those plans as clients progress. Our clients bring a wide range of goals, abilities, and experiences, from returning to exercise after rehabilitation to building strength or feeling more confident in movement.

Experience in corrective exercise, strength and conditioning, health coaching, or exercise prescription for special populations is especially relevant.

You’ll bring your knowledge to a collaborative team of providers and trainers who value each other’s perspectives.

A relevant degree and 3–5 years of work or volunteer experience in the field are required.

Interested? Send your resume to [email protected].

Fitness happens in the middle of a client’s story.

At Body Dynamics, that story might include navigating rehabilitation, building strength for everyday life, or learning to feel comfortable exercising again.

We’re looking for someone who can meet clients where they are, assess how they move, and create individualized exercise plans that support their goals.

Join our interdisciplinary physical therapy and wellness practice as a Fitness Instructor, Personal Trainer or Pilates Instructor.

Candidates should have a degree in Sports Medicine, Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, or Physical Education and 3–5 years of work or volunteer experience in the field. ACSM, NASM or Pilates certification and experience adapting exercise to individual needs are a strong fit.

How often should you complete a fitness assessment? We recommend once a year.

An annual assessment allows you to track changes in your fitness, recognize the progress you’ve made, and identify areas that may need more attention. We can then use those updated baselines to recalibrate your goals and adjust your fitness sessions for the year ahead.

Ready to check in on your progress? Give us a call at (703) 527-9557.

Whether your goal is to build strength, improve endurance, move with more confidence, or simply feel better, we can use those results to help structure fitness sessions around your individual needs.

Hypermobility means a joint moves beyond the typical range of motion, but it can look different from person to person.

For some, it may look like extra flexibility. For others, it can include frequent sprains, joint instability, muscle tension, fatigue, or discomfort after everyday activities. Being flexible alone doesn’t necessarily mean there’s a problem, but symptoms that affect your daily life are worth paying attention to.

Wondering if hypermobility may be affecting how you move and feel? Our team is here to help. Give us a call at (703) 527-9557.

For hypermobile bodies, proprioception, or your sense of where your body is in space, can sometimes be less reliable. This may make it harder to recognize joint position or control movement, while surrounding muscles work overtime to create stability.

Massage can help by providing calming sensory input, easing overworked muscles, and increasing body awareness. It can be a helpful complement to strength and movement work, giving you another way to feel more connected to your body.

Our massage therapists are here to help you better understand your body and find the support that feels right for you. Call us at (703) 527-9557 to learn more.
