August was a fun time to get out, travel around to check the crops, and visit Indian Cave in all its' beauty. We even stopped to pick Pawpaws so the residents could recall what they were. Even if they were across a ditch ankle deep in smelly water. I'd do almost anything for our residents! We had a delicious lunch with ice cream, of course! Tumblereed Mercantile took great care of us and our residents loved the food!

We celebrated August birthdays of our own Jeannie Coupe-August 10th, and Reba Benson- August 31st. Cake and ice cream, always a preferred treat in the hot summer! As we come toward Assisted Living Week next week I've added our September calendar. We have some fun things planned. Hopefully mother nature has cooler weather planned too! 🌡

We had a little hot weather water gun fun last week. Our quick draw residents couldn't decide which was a better target, the ping pong balls or Tammie!

Justin Weaver provided us some delicious sweet corn, thank you! Our resident were so ready for that summer treat. We husked as a group and chatted about memories on the farm for many. Enjoying produce from our resident garden now too. Tomatoes, green beans, onions, peppers and lots of zuchini! That zuchini shredded and frozen makes the best coffee cake over the next few months, yum!

Sharing a little fun we had recently with the 4H kids! It was a Jonesbrook "buggy" wash! Our residents got their walkers and wheelchairs scrubbed down and rinsed by our visiting 4H-er's. We even had a resident volunteer her pickup for a "rinse" job by the older kids. It was wet and wild afternoon topped off by cotton candy. Enjoy the pics!

June's lunch outing vote was for Wild Bill's in Rulo. We had a yummy lunch and great view of the river!

Here are our June birthday ladies, minus one. LaVerne Yoesel (100years), Ruth Ranebeck, and we were missing Amy Morehead. Amy was away spending time with family. Happiest of birthdays to these sweet ladies!
