Here is my PCOS (now called PMOS) healing story ✨

For most of my life, my periods were irregular.
When I was younger, my OBGYN recommended birth control pills. I didn’t want to go that route.

Years later, an acupuncturist told me, “I think you may have PCOS.”
I went back to my OBGYN, got diagnosed, and again was offered the pill.

Fast forward to age 29 when I went to a chiropractor.
She wasn’t the first chiropractor I had ever seen, but the first who recommended an actual care plan: 3x/week for 3 months.

Honestly, I was resistant. No chiropractor had ever recommended that before.
But I thought, “I can stop whenever I want, so let me just try.”

A few weeks in, she was about to adjust my sacrum and said,
“You’re going to hate me tomorrow.”

Since that adjustment, I’ve had regular periods for the first time in my life.
Healthy color, healthier flow, normal timing and one of the biggest changes was that my periods stopped coming with the painful symptoms I used to expect.

My cycle even synced with the moon for years after that, until now entering my perimenopause journey.

The sacrum nerves innervate the ovaries and my experience completely changed the way I understand chiropractic and women’s health.

If no one has mentioned chiropractic for your hormonal or metabolic health…consider this your sign. 🌙

Thank you, 🦋🙏👑 this one is for you. 💐🫶🏼🌷

Most parents have never been told there may be a structural component to why their child keeps getting ear infections.

The Eustachian tube is responsible for draining fluid from the middle ear. It relies on proper muscle function, especially the Tensor veli palatini, to open and allow that fluid to drain.

The upper cervical spine (C1 vertebra and C2 vertebra) plays a role in overall tension, posture, and neuromuscular coordination in the head and neck.

When there’s restriction or imbalance in this area, it may influence how well those drainage mechanisms function.

In children, this matters even more.
Their Eustachian tubes are shorter and more horizontal than adults, making drainage harder from the start.

And from birth onward...delivery, tumbles, toxins, posture, and growth...the upper neck takes on a lot of physical stress.

💚Gentle, specific chiropractic care focused on the upper neck aims to reduce tension and support better overall function.

In practice, many families report improvements in:
• frequency of ear infections
• severity
• ability to clear fluid naturally

Save this for a parent who needs it 💚

If I ever have girls…” 💖

When a child is supported in connecting to her body and aligning within

She has a greater chance to grow into a woman
who is deeply connected to her body
who can meet herself,
know herself,
and embrace her power.

Clear in her nervous system.
Strong in her body.
Strong in her mind.
Strong in her life.

This is what keeps me devoted to my work
the possibility of something better
for generations of girls and women to come.

Did you know that milk does not just come out of 1 hole in the ni**le?...

Did you know that milk does not just come out of 1 hole in the ni**le?

Your ni**les have anywhere from 4 –18 lactiferous duct openings where milk emerges from the ni**le.

These lactiferous ducts, begin at the ni**le, then branch into smaller ducts, and end in the terminal duct lobular unit (or lobule).

There may be milk resting in these lactiferous ducts, but to applying negative pressure isn’t enough to cause the milk to flow to the baby.

The milk let-down reflex, also called the milk ejection reflex, permits the suckling infant to obtain milk. This reflex is caused by the baby suckling.

Your baby triggers tiny nerves in the ni**le.

These nerves cause hormones to be released into your bloodstream.

One of these hormones, called Prolactin, acts on the milk-making tissues.

The other hormone, Oxytocin is released from your pituitary gland in your brain which then causes the breast to push out or ‘let down’ the milk.

The let-down reflex makes the milk available to your baby.

Cells around the alveoli contract and squeeze out the milk, pushing it down the ducts towards the ni**le.

Oxytocin also makes the milk ducts widen, making it easier for the milk to flow down them.

✅The let-down reflex can happen in other ways besides your baby suckling. Neurons can also be triggered by higher brain centers, so that the mere sight of a baby or hearing a baby cry is often sufficient to stimulate milk let-down.

❎It’s important to also know that the opposite can happen. Stressful conditions may inhibit oxytocin secretion, preventing the suckling infant from obtaining milk even though the breast is full.

Flor Cruz
