Our office and stance on Coronavirus...
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve likely heard of the Coronavirus. Our office intends to stay open, but will follow whatever the CDC and/or WHO recommends.
This virus can spread like wildfire, and it can often times take 2-14 days before symptoms appear. While many cases resemble a cold or flu for a healthy individual, it can be devastating for those who are older or immunocompromised.
What are we doing? Well, we are washing our hands, and taking extra time to sanitize the waiting room seating, pre-testing machines as well as the exam chairs-basically every nook and cranny. We will have sanitizer out, and will use it frequently. We will be sanitizing the other surfaces of our office through the day, including table surfaces and door handles, etc.
What can you do to help us?
1. Please don’t come into the office if you have a fever or are sick. In fact, please follow CDC advice and stay home. While you may not get deathly ill, you have the real potential to get someone else deathly ill. However, PLEASE call us and let us know if you're not coming to your scheduled appointment!
2. Please consider washing your hands in the bathroom before walking in the door. Wet your hands with clean running water and then lather them with soap; don’t miss the backs of your hands, between your fingers or under your nails. Make sure to scrub for at least 20 seconds (or about the time it takes to sing “Happy Birthday” twice), and dry them with a clean towel or let them air dry. In fact- do this A LOT through the day.
3. When you walk in the door, utilize our alcohol-based hand sanitizer, which should be rubbed in for about 20 seconds.
4. Remember to be smart- but remain calm. Remember, when your stress reflex is triggered, your immune system becomes more suppressed.
5. You are more than welcome to request to watch us wash the chair & machines again. Same for hand sanitizer. We will be sanitizing our hands all the time, but you are very welcome to ask us to do it right in front of you!
6. Bring us your extra TP, hand sanitizer, and caffeine. This last one is a joke... but only kind of 😉
Coronavirus cases continued to be confirmed in the United States. By following some basic steps, you can help reduce your risk, and do your part to protect others, if your community is affected.
