degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX in 1976. He then completed his specialty training in Ophthalmology at the Mayo Clinic. He has had an eye surgical practice in Fargo since 1980. Dr. Bagan has done over 10,000 major eye surgeries and over 10,000 Lasik and PRK
laser procedures. He is also a cornea transplant surgeon, giving him valuable experience in all aspects of cornea surgery
. Dr. Bagan has had refractive surgery himself. This unique perspective and his careful personal approach will provide you with an excellent refractive surgery experience. He goes overseas to perform volunteer surgery, and has performed and taught eye surgery in the Philippines, Nigeria, India, Peru, Nicaragua, Ukraine, Romania and other countries. Dr. Winkels received his medical degree from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine in 2019. He then completed his Ophthalmology residency training at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. He recently moved back to the Fargo area upon completion of his training, and has been a surgeon at Bagan Winkels Vision since September of 2023. Dr. Winkels’ practice emphasis is cataract/premium cataract and refractive surgery, but he also offers a range of services related to cornea, retina, glaucoma surgery and oculoplastic surgery. Bagan Winkels Vision provides the following services: Bladeless vision correction (LASIK), eye disease treatments (cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration), pediatric eye care, cosmetic procedures, (Botox®, LATISSE™ eyelash enhancements, eyelid lifts) and contact lens fitting.
