Things Dr. Kinzie Loves: Health Edition 🖤✨

It’s the simple, consistent habits that make the biggest difference—sleep, movement, sunlight, stress balance, and taking care of your body in ways that actually support long-term wellness.

Small things, big impact. 🙌

A little sunshine goes a long way. ☀️

Your body uses sunlight to help produce vitamin D, an important nutrient for bone strength, immune health, and overall function. But it’s not just physical—natural light exposure during the day also supports mood, focus, and your sleep-wake cycle.

Sometimes the simplest “health habit” is just getting outside. 🌿

A lot of headaches actually begin with tension in the muscles and joints of your neck. When those muscles become tight, irritated, or overworked, the pain can travel upward into the base of the skull and wrap around the head.

Common triggers can include:
💻 Poor posture
📱 Looking down at phones/screens
😴 Sleeping in awkward positions
😵 Stress & muscle tension
🚗 Long hours driving or sitting

These are often called “tension headaches” or “cervicogenic headaches” because the pain is coming FROM the neck.

Signs your neck may be involved:
✔ Pain starts at the base of the skull
✔ Tight shoulders/neck stiffness
✔ Headaches after work or screen time
✔ Pain improves with stretching or movement

The good news? Treating the source — not just masking the symptoms — can help reduce how often these headaches happen. 🙌

The Truth: 👉 Stress shows up in the body just as much as the mind.

• Stress often shows up as tight muscles, especially in the neck, shoulders, and low back.

• It can contribute to headaches, fatigue, poor sleep, and digestive issues.

• When the nervous system is stuck in “fight or flight,” the body struggles to relax and heal.

• Chiropractic care can help reduce physical tension and support better nervous system balance.

• Acupuncture can calm the stress response and promote relaxation.

• Movement helps release tension and improves mood naturally.

• Nutrition (like magnesium glycinate and omega-3s) can support better stress regulation.

Stress is a whole-body issue — and it needs a whole-body approach.

Let's Talk Facts! 👇

• You don’t have to go all-in to see results — walking, stretching, and light strength work all support your health.

• A common mistake is jumping into 4–5 workouts/week right away — when it’s not sustainable, it often leads to burnout or quitting altogether.

• Setting realistic, achievable goals (like 2–3 days/week) builds consistency — and consistency is what actually creates progress.

• An all-or-nothing mindset can hold you back — missing a workout doesn’t mean you’ve failed, it just means you pick back up the next day.

• Your body responds best to regular movement, not occasional extremes — especially when managing pain or stiffness.

• Chiropractic care supports proper movement, but maintaining those results comes from what you do between visits.

• Small habits over time (movement, recovery, nutrition) add up to long-term success far more than short bursts of intensity.

Bottom line: You don’t need to be perfect — you just need to keep showing up and doing your best, one day at a time!

We often think of mental health as something that happens in the mind—but it’s deeply connected to the body. When the nervous system is dysregulated, it can impact mood, focus, and stress tolerance. Supporting the body is one way we support the mind.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mommas out there 💐

We are so proud of you, and so grateful to play even a small role in supporting you through every stage of motherhood—no matter what your journey looks like.

Motherhood is not one-size-fits-all, and neither is the care, strength, and resilience it takes. You show up every day in ways that often go unseen, and it doesn’t go unnoticed here.

Moms are rockstars—nurturers, leaders, caregivers, and some of the most influential people in so many lives.

We’re honored to support you as you take care of everyone else. You deserve that same care poured back into you!

This is important! 👉 Quality chiropractic care is much more than a quick adjustment.

• Adjustments are just one piece — they help restore joint motion, but lasting results often require more than that alone.

• Many issues involve both joints and muscles, which is why we incorporate muscle work to help relax tight areas and support the adjustment.

• At our office, we spend time before/after your adjustment working on the surrounding tissues to improve overall outcomes.

• We may recommend stretches or exercises to reduce pain, improve mobility, and help you maintain progress between visits.

• Chiropractic care isn’t one-size-fits-all — there are many techniques and approaches depending on the provider.

• Some offices focus on quick, in-and-out adjustments, while others take a more comprehensive approach to care.

• Finding a provider who spends time with you and addresses the root of the issue can make a big difference in your results.

It’s not just about the "crack" — it’s about restoring function, supporting the body, and creating lasting change!
