You don’t need a perfect plan. You need to keep showing up.

Right now I’m traveling more than I ever have. My schedule’s all over the place. Some weeks I train hard, some weeks I barely touch it. And that’s okay, because I stopped trying to force my training into a rigid weekly structure a long time ago.

The perfect progressive plan only works when life is stable. When nothing else is pulling at you. That’s ideal, but when is life ever consistently ideal?

Most of the time you’re training around what life is actually asking of you, and that’s not a failure. That’s just real life.

The weeks you can’t do as much, tighten up what you can control. Sleep. Nutrition. Stress. You don’t have to win every variable. Just manage the ones in front of you.

I used to think if I couldn’t do something perfectly, it wasn’t worth doing at all. So I’d do nothing. That mindset cost me years of progress.

Doing something beats doing nothing. Every single time.

So if you’re in a busy, messy season right now, stop waiting for the perfect moment to start. Understand the season you’re in and train around it. Consistency over the long game beats short bursts of motivation every time.

You’re not behind. You just need to keep moving.

Spent over a year going to PT. He went to multiple clinics and was still stuck.

So we zoomed out and assessed the full body, not just the spot that hurt.

The hip wasn’t the real problem. It was being pulled around by compensation patterns above and below it. Stuff happening in the foot, the knee, the pelvis, the trunk. Working on the hip directly never stuck because nothing else changed.

Most clinics don’t get the time to do this kind of work. 30-minute sessions, three patients at a time, and a protocol that says “treat where it hurts.” That’s how someone ends up a year deep with no real progress.

So we did it differently:

1. Mapped out the whole movement system, not just the hip.

2. Built the supporting pieces first. Foot control, knee tracking, pelvic stability.

3. Came back to the hip with a foundation underneath it.

That’s when things started moving.

If you’ve been stuck in PT and nothing’s holding, the spot that hurts probably isn’t the whole story. Ask the bigger question.

The first 10 minutes of a PT eval should tell you if you’re in the right spot.

Most people don’t know that. So they sit through weeks of treatment that feels rushed, robotic, and they are just another body on the table.

Your care shouldn’t feel that way!!

Look for these 3 things:

1. You feel like a human, not a chart.
2. They look at your whole body and your whole life. Not just the spot that hurts.
3. You walk out knowing the full plan. What’s going on, why, how long it takes, and what it costs.

If that’s not what your care feels or looks like, ask the hard questions. It’s your health.

8 years of back pain and spasms.

Car accident last year flared it all up again. By the time she walked in, she’d been through multiple clinics and was carrying real fear around moving her body again.

The thing nobody had done yet was actually explain to her what was going on. Not just where it hurt, but why it hurt, how it was connected to everything else in her body, and what we needed to fix at the root instead of chasing symptoms.

10 weeks later she’s back doing things she’d been avoiding for years. And more importantly she trusts her body again.

This is the work. Not a quick fix. A real one.

People are losing without even knowing they’re playing a game.

They’re stuck chasing quick wins and quick fixes. Whatever feels good right now. I see it in the clinic every day with people chasing relief instead of the actual answer. It’s not even their fault. Nobody taught them how to look at the bigger picture.

I used to be the same way and still have some struggles (we are human and we for damn sure ain’t perfect lol). When I first started Revenant, I tried to do everything in six months. I set an arbitrary timeline and thought I could make it work…instead I absolutely face-planted lol.

Took me a while to figure out that the small choices we make today are what actually get us where we want to go. Not the big leaps. The leaps are where I always failed.

So now I play long games. With everything. Business, money, health, and life. Not because I’m trying to delay enjoying my life (I’m definitely enjoying my life 🥰) but because I learned the longer games tend to have bigger payoffs in the long run.

Ask yourself where are you right now? Where do you actually want to be?

That gap between the two is the whole game.

“I’ve had an amazing experience working with Nevin. He helped me understand proper form in a way no one ever has before. For the first time, I really learned how to build a strong mind–muscle connection and what proper form FEELS like. My issue was overtraining (running 25+ miles a week) and over time, I started noticing groin pain. I wanted to take action and not “run through the pain” so I was recommended to see Nevin. He took the time to break down what I was doing incorrectly and explained why it was contributing to the discomfort I was feeling in my hips. Then he guided me step-by-step through the correct movements, making sure I truly understood how to activate the right muscles. The improvement has been huge—I feel stronger, more aligned, and more confident in my movement. The groin pain subsided after 3 weeks! If you’re looking for a physical therapist who is patient, knowledgeable, and truly committed to your progress, I can’t recommend him enough.”

Running through pain is never the answer.

25+ miles a week. Groin pain building over time. Most people push through it and hope it resolves. It doesn’t. It compounds.

The difference here is that she wanted to understand what was actually going on before it became something bigger. That mindset is everything.

Three weeks later. Pain free. Moving better than before.

I had my last open heart surgery at 19.

Nobody told me what was safe, what was appropriate, or how to time any of it.

So I guessed. And I kept getting it wrong.

A year away from the gym. A lot of weight gained. A lot of failed attempts before something finally clicked.

That experience is in every session I run.

When you’ve lived inside that fear you don’t hand someone a generic protocol and hope for the best.

You understand it.

Two squats. Two different stories.

This guy has run multiple half marathons. No issues. No pain. No wall.

The moment he started pushing toward full marathon volume, something started breaking down past 15K. Every single time.

He didn’t come in because of his squat.

But the squat is one of the tools I use to understand how the body is organizing itself. Not to judge it. Not to clean it up. To read it in the context of what he’s actually asking his body to do.

And that’s the key word. Context.

The pattern in his first squat isn’t wrong. It’s not something I’d touch if he wanted to keep running halves. His body found a strategy and it worked…multiple times, no problems.

But he doesn’t want to run a half anymore.

We don’t fix things just because they’re asymmetrical. We address things when the pattern no longer matches the demand. That line is different for every single person. It depends on their goal, their volume, their history, their body.

For him, his right hip compression and the shift he makes to avoid loading it was totally manageable at half marathon distance. A full is a different conversation. The demand changed. The pattern didn’t. That’s the 15K wall.

Two drills later: right hip opens, load distributes more evenly, second squat looks completely different.

Same body. Different context. Different outcome.

“Nevin is truly the best. I decided I did not want to explore the traditional therapy route. My first appointment I could barely move. He analyzed where I needed to focus and customized a plan specifically for me. The next week, I was feeling 70% better. His technique and approach is really unique and I feel like I got my life back. I can now lift my daughter without any aches and pains and I’m back in the gym regularly!!”

First appointment. Could barely move.

One week later — 70% better.

That’s not luck. That’s what happens when someone actually takes the time to understand what’s going on with your body instead of handing you a generic protocol and hoping for the best.

Every session at Revenant is one-on-one. The plan is built around your goals, your life, and your body. Not a template. Not a printout. A real plan.

This is why I do this.
