Today for our Lunch Bunch outing, we tried a new to us restaurant called Celebration. A resident suggested we try the food. It was a quaint building with great service. The food was wonderful. The first picture is the Walnut Crusted Chicken Salad. It had walnuts, dried cranberries, mandarin oranges, blue cheese crumbles and the chicken was so tender. The second picture is of the Banana Pudding. So sweet and creamy. We will definitely be back.

Edith celebrated her 99th birthday this week. Her secret to good health is buttermilk and cornbread. But she sure enjoys having Dr. Pepper at our Thirsty Thursday happy hour. Congratulations, Edith. We love you!

We celebrated a milestone anniversary yesterday. Tom and Carlene have been married for 70 years. They wanted to renew their vows with their family. At lunch, they shared their celebration with the whole community, serving wedding cake. A private ceremony followed lunch, with Father Franck from Mary Immaculate Church giving a blessing to the couple. Memories of their wedding day were shared with family. It was a wonderful day.

Our lunch bunch outing this month was to one of our favorite tex-mex places, El Fenix. The enchilada special was perfect as usual. The tortilla soup with chicken was hot and had fresh avocado. The chips and salsa are wonderful. But the absolute best is the time with friends on our lunch bunch outings. Did we make you hungry?

My, how our garden has grown just in the past few days. We have okra growing, and we love to see the beautiful okra flower. Then, we have sweet banana peppers. It seems they grew big overnight. We harvested okra, peppers, rosemary and mint. What do you think we should make?

One of our favorite places to eat is Olive Garden. The salad is so good with the breadsticks. The lunch menu meals are wonderful. Great food and our best friends eating out together make it special.

We want to spotlight a great resident artist; unfortunately, he passed the other day. Just look at his pictures. We just want to be where the pictures are. Bob was a quiet guy, but he could make you laugh if you were sad. He would sing songs during Happy Hour. The jokes he would tell would make you double over laughing. He was part of our Studio Art Team. Bob, you were loved, and we will miss you.
