CMS's CY 2026 proposed rule keeps oral appliances for OSA under the Medicare DME benefit, with no transition to the Physician Fee Schedule, as confirmed by the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM).

The coverage pathway is stable. The billing structure you know stays intact.
If you've been waiting for the right time to bring OAT into your practice, this is it.

"This is not a dental device. It is an airway management device."

Dr. Keith Thornton's approach to the flexTAP comes from his anesthesia training in the Navy, where the goal of airway management is simple: open the airway.

In this clip, he shares the design philosophy behind the TAP line. Patients breathe with their jaws apart, so an effective appliance needs to respect freeway space and make room for the tongue. The flexTAP is built around how we actually breathe.

If you treat OSA patients, this conversation with Dr. Thornton, Charles Collins, and Jenny Darling on the new Nylon flexTAP, now available through Great Lakes Dental Technologies, is worth your time.

We’re proud to have myTAP® featured in a new case study published in the Journal of Dental Sleep Medicine.

The case highlights how myTAP helped support rapid improvement for a patient with treatment-resistant OSA, showing what is possible when providers have practical, chairside tools they can use right away.

For physicians and dentists, myTAP offers a patient-friendly option that can help make sleep apnea treatment more accessible, comfortable, and actionable.

Rudy's wife kept telling him he was snoring loud. He didn't want to believe it, so he self-monitored for two nights. The data confirmed it, hours in the red zone, night after night.

After being treated with multiple iterations of TAP devices, he started wearing the new Nylon flexTAP and reported improved fit, greater freedom of movement, and easier day-to-day wear and portability.

For dental sleep medicine providers looking for an appliance option that can improve comfort and compliance, this is a case worth sharing with your team.

What a meeting! We had a fantastic time connecting with the sleep medicine community at the Annual SLEEP Meeting, where TAP hosted a booth in the exhibit hall.

It was a privilege to meet so many clinicians, researchers, advocates, and partners who share our commitment to advancing better sleep and better outcomes for patients.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello.

Proud to have once again sponsored the University of Michigan Dental Sleep Medicine Mastery Course in June.

This year's attendees got true hands-on experience—each clinician fit a myTAP and AM Aligner during the course, putting theory into practice and building the confidence that comes from working with the appliances directly.

We were also honored to have AADSM President Dr. Paul Jacobs speak at the White Coat Ceremony, marking a meaningful milestone for the dentists in attendance.
TAP is proud to support this course and the clinicians working toward board certification in dental sleep medicine. The future of patient care is in capable hands, and we're glad to play a part in the journey.

We were honored to support the DSM Masterclass 2026 with DentSleep International in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Attendees from Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, and India came together for immersive, hands-on training in Dental Sleep Medicine, including live fitting of the myTAP oral appliance.

Congratulations to all participants, and thank you to Mayoor Patel and Dentsleep International for providing excellent hands-on education.

Most full-face CPAP masks are being prescribed first.

According to an American Thoracic Society workshop report highlighted by Sleep Review, the evidence points the other way.

Nasal interfaces should be the clinical default for most patients. Not oronasal masks.

Here's what the data shows:
→ Full-face masks drive higher required pressures
→ Leak rates and discomfort are consistently greater
→ Long-term adherence is measurably lower

And when nasal CPAP still isn't achieving the outcomes you need, that's a signal worth acting on.

For patients who can't sustain any mask-based interface, oral appliance therapy is a clinically supported next step, not a last resort. TAP Sleep Care's Nylon flexTAP is the world's first digitally printed single-point midline oral appliance, designed for the patients your current protocol isn't reaching.

No mask. No hose. No compliance barriers.
