Late May is a beautiful, transitional time. The spring rush is winding down, the days are noticeably longer, and the early summer warmth is finally settling in. It's the perfect opportunity to slow down, shake off the heavy mental load of the past few months, and intentionally reset.
🌲 Heading Outside
The weather is finally perfect, so it's a great excuse to soak up some sun and fresh air.
Hit a quiet trail: Pack some water, head out early, and just walk. No heavy podcasts or news in your ears—just enjoy the quiet and the views.
Play in the dirt: Spend a little time out in the yard or garden. Planting some fresh flowers or clearing out old beds is a great way to clear your head.
Catch the blooms: Take a slow walk just to see what's blooming right now. Catching the scent of fresh lilacs or green grass is an instant mood booster.
🏠 Chilling at Home
If you just want to hibernate and recharge your battery, make your space feel like a sanctuary.
The ultimate shower or bath: Grab your favorite scrub, put on a face mask, and turn the bathroom into a temporary spa.
The "one counter" clean: Don't deep clean the whole house. Just wipe down one cluttered spot, light a candle, and enjoy the clean space.
Fresh sheet Friday: Wash your favorite bedding so climbing into bed feels amazing all weekend.
🧠 Unplugging the Brain
Protect your peace and step away from the constant noise.
Ditch the phone: Toss your phone in a drawer for a whole afternoon. The world can wait while you unplug.
Get cozy: Curl up with a good book, put on a favorite comfort show, or just listen to some music while doing absolutely nothing productive.
Say "no" to something: If there’s an invite or a chore that feels totally exhausting, skip it. Protecting your time is the best self-care there is.
At the end of the day, don't turn self-care into another chore. Just pick whatever sounds the most relaxing and go with it.
