Taking medication for headaches may seem like the right solution—but using certain pain relievers too often can actually lead to medication overuse headache, a condition where headaches become more frequent or harder to control.

If you're reaching for headache medication several days a week or finding that your headaches keep coming back, it may be time to talk with a neurologist.

Dr. Lauren Aymen of MIND's Headache & Facial Pain Center specializes in identifying the underlying cause of headaches and creating personalized treatment plans that go beyond symptom relief.

You don't have to live with chronic headaches. The right diagnosis can make all the difference.

MYTH: Summer heat doesn't affect nerve pain.
FACT: For many people living with neuropathy or chronic nerve pain, hot and humid weather can make symptoms feel worse.

Heat may contribute to:
• Increased burning or tingling sensations
• Swelling that places added pressure on nerves
• Dehydration, which may intensify symptoms

If you're noticing more discomfort during the summer months, try staying well hydrated, limiting time outdoors during the hottest part of the day and talking with your neurologist if symptoms become more frequent or severe.

When many people think of epilepsy, they picture convulsions. In reality, seizures can look very different from person to person. Some may involve staring spells, confusion, unusual sensations or repetitive movements that can easily be overlooked.

If you or a loved one experiences unexplained episodes of altered awareness or possible seizure activity, a neurological evaluation can help determine the cause.

MIND offers comprehensive neurological evaluation, on-site EEG testing and ongoing care for patients with epilepsy and seizure disorders—all coordinated within one practice.

What does a “colorful” diet really look like?

In this clip, Jonathan Fellows, DO, Medical Director of MIND’s Alzheimer’s Disease and Memory Disorders Center, discusses the widespread effects of highly processed foods and added sugar, along with the growing prevalence of insulin resistance, hyperglycemia, and type 2 diabetes.

He also offers an important reminder: filling a plate with color should mean choosing fruits, vegetables, and other nutrient-dense foods.

Nutrition is only one part of brain health, but the foods we choose can affect our metabolic, vascular, and cognitive health over time.
