You're not alone.

Po*******hy is one of the most talked about and least talked about topics in s*xual health.

For some, it's a source of pleasure, exploration, and fantasy. For others, it brings up questions about intimacy, values, trust, desire, or control.

Most people never have a safe place to talk about it.
That's exactly why this conversation matters.

Most men wait years before talking to someone about a s*xual concern.

Not because they don't care.
Not because it isn't affecting their relationships.

But because they believe they should be able to handle it on their own.

The truth is that many men struggle with the exact same concerns, and effective help is available.

If you've ever thought, "I thought I was the only one...", you're exactly who this message is for.

Every couple has baggage.

The question isn't whether baggage existsβ€”it's where it came from and what happens when it shows up in the relationship.

Many of the conflicts couples struggle with today didn't begin with the relationship itself. They often stem from earlier experiences, family dynamics, attachment patterns, past hurts, and the beliefs we developed about love, trust, safety, and connection.

One partner may fear abandonment. Another may fear criticism. One may pursue closeness when upset, while the other withdraws. Without understanding the deeper pattern, couples can find themselves having the same argument over and over again.

The good news? Awareness creates choice.

When couples begin to understand the stories and experiences they each bring into the relationship, they can stop fighting each other and start working together.

Because every couple has baggage. The lucky ones unpack it.

Real talk, keeping this secret is getting harder by the day.

This community means everything to us. You are why we show up, why we keep growing, and why we keep dreaming bigger.

And this summer? We get to give something back that we think you've been waiting for.

Something big. Something bold. Something we are so proud to be bringing to Michigan.

We can't wait to share it with you. Stay close. πŸ‘€

Every person has layers worth understanding.

Human s*xuality is not defined by one feeling, one experience, or one identity. Like an onion, s*xuality is made up of many interconnected layers β€” including culture, relationships, emotions, beliefs, identity, attraction, behavior, and our deepest sense of self.

When we explore s*xuality with curiosity rather than judgment, we create space for self-awareness, healing, healthier relationships, and authentic connection. Understanding these layers can help us better understand ourselves and others with compassion and respect.

This visual offers a holistic way to think about s*xuality β€” not as something simple or one-dimensional, but as a deeply human experience shaped by both inner truth and lived experience.

You know that feeling of eating ice cream alone on your couch in your pajamas β€” savoring every single bite, completely in your own world? Delicious comes to my mind!!

No one is watching. No one to explain yourself to. Just you and something that brings you pure pleasure.

A kink or fe**sh can feel exactly like that.

Something private. Something deeply yours. Something that lights you up from the inside.

And then stigma walks in β€” and everything shifts.

I see this in my practice every single week. People who carry something they've never said out loud. A desire, a fantasy, a kink or fe**sh that has quietly lived in the shadows for years β€” sometimes decades.

What starts as discomfort hardens into shame. And shame, when it has nowhere to go, starts to look like control. Rigidity. A slow pulling away β€” from your partner, from intimacy, from yourself.

In relationships, this becomes its own kind of wound. Your partner senses the distance without knowing what's behind it. Transparency erodes. Closeness fades. And the isolation that follows isn't because of the desire β€” it's because the shame around it was never given space to breathe.

Kinks and fe**shes are far more common than the silence around them suggests. What's rare is having a place to actually talk about them β€” without judgment, without labels, without shame.

That place exists. And it can change everything. 🀍

I hear this ALL the time in my office.

People come in thinking they're broken, weird, or the only one struggling with intimacy, desire, or just... talking about s*x.

They're not. And neither are you.

S*x therapy isn't about what happens in the bedroom β€” it's about helping you feel more connected, more understood, and more like yourself.

I'm Gayle Shotkin, AASECT Certified S*x Therapist serving Metro Detroit β€” in person and virtually.

If you've been sitting with something you haven't been able to say out loud yet, my door is open.
