We’ve reached the last stop on our gratitude tour…and this one is the part of the story that made all our dreams become reality— our physical location!!! 📍

We want to give a HUGE thank you to our broker, Dan Blugerman, CCIM, of P.A. Commercial, our architect Peter Tzilos of Architects, and our landlord John, who made finding the perfect space feel absolutely kismet! ✨

When we first walked into the location that would become The Mercantile, we just knew. Through the twists and turns and other spaces that just didn’t “work out,” we felt like we might be fighting an uphill battle — but as soon as we walked through those doors, we KNEW we’d landed right where we were meant to be. ❤️

We truly believe the right people and places came into focus at the exact right time for The Mercantile to happen. And we can’t wait to show you all the magic we have in store this fall!

Everything in The Mercantile is handmade, by local artisans, and created in small batches. We have been absolutely loving what they’ve been making this season! ❤️

While we are savoring this last stretch of summer, we are so excited to show you what we have in store for fall! 🍁

Is it ever too early to start gearing up for football season?! 🏈 ✨🥳

If you didn’t already know, we carry a FULL lineup of Lions, U of M and Sparty goodies — all handmade by local artists.

And even better? Those cool stadium portraits are hand sketched by our in house Empowered Artist and Team Lead, Logan G!

Doesn’t get much better than championing your favorite teams AND supporting artists with autism!

Our next group of amazing humans we need to thank are all of our builders, craftsmen and suppliers that made The Mercantile a reality!

First we’d like to thank our general contractor, Allen, who was with us from the very start! From the first walk through, to making sure our bathrooms were in tip top shape, our slot walls safely installed, our door refitted, and everything in between, Allen made sure we were ready to open by May! 🔨

Our generous donation of cabinetry came from Ron, at Wholesale Builder Supply! We are so thankful to Ron for believing in our vision and making the cabinets in our hub and our lounge room possible! ❤️

We also want to thank Sherwin Williams of Novi for our gallons and gallons of paint — their generous discount made it possible for us to re-paint every single inch of The Mercantile with the perfect hue! 🎨

A huge thank you to Darren and the whole Veteran Flooring team for their amazing craftsmanship in overhauling our floor! We were working with a pre-existing design, and Darren made sure we found something that blended seamlessly with our space! We couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. ✨

Last but not least, we must thank Freedom Glass Film for their window tint work! When faced with unexpected window complications, Chris made sure the job was done right, no matter how long it took! We are so thankful to the Freedom Glass Film team for making sure our windows are protected and retail ready!

We are so unbelievably thankful for these community partners — for all their labor, support, generosity, and expertise!🙏

The Mercantile has been open for three whole months! ✨🥰 We can’t believe how fast time is flying, but we are finding our groove and are so excited for what’s to come this fall.

We have so many folks to thank — starting with our amazing sign experts from Signarama who took our vision and brought it to LIFE! From the main feature sign in our hub to our front door graphics, we couldn’t be happier! They are committed to excellence and it shows in how beautiful all our signage turned out.

Our other signature visual piece that really *makes* our space is our antique wooden counter from Woodward Throwbacks! This piece serves as our central hub for all our customer transactions, product organizing, and anchors our space! ⚓️ We are so thankful to local furniture experts Woodward Throwbacks for taking care of the adjustments we needed to make this piece fit perfectly!

We will be sharing more about ALL the helpers and local businesses that made The Mercantile possible this week — so stay tuned! 🥳🙏
