About the author:
Kate McCarroll Moore is a life-long educator and the former Poet Laureate for the City of San Ramon, California. She is the author of two picture books, Chelsea Skye, Nature Spy and Walter and Benny: Good Guys, Nature Spies and two novels for children, Elinormal and New Girl: The Further Adventures of Elinormal. Kate also has published poetry collections for adults; her most recent collection is Alphapoetica: A Poetry Primer for the Everyday Poet. She holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership for Social Justice, and she continues to promote poetry as a tool of transformation and healing. She never grows tired of people-watching and eavesdropping, using her writer’s imagination to turn ordinary events into unique characters with interesting stories to tell. She lives with her family in Rocklin, CA, and teaches on-line and in-person poetry and memoir workshops.
About the book:
Walter and his faithful French bulldog Benny love learning about nature. They craft projects to keep animals safe, read nature books from the library, and write down what they see and do in a special nature notebook.
But being a nature spy means more than just watching from the sidelines. It also means stepping in when something's wrong. So when the duo's favorite librarian needs help finding her lost cat, Walter and Benny spring into action — only to discover a second family in need of their assistance!
