🙏🎗️ Today, The Center for Advanced Reproductive Services (CARS) honors the men and women who gave everything so the rest of us could keep living our lives, raising our families, and chasing our dreams.

We are deeply grateful for their sacrifice, and for every freedom they fought to protect, including the freedom to build a family in the way you choose.

We also know that for many military families, that freedom comes with its own set of battles. TRICARE coverage for fertility treatments is limited in ways that feel anything but fair.

The out-of-pocket costs for IVF and medications can be staggering, and navigating military insurance to figure out what is and is not covered is its own exhausting job.

For families who have already sacrificed so much, being priced out of the family they have been dreaming of is a pain that should not exist.

You have shown up for us. We want to show up for you.

CARS offers a Reduced Cost Fertility Program for eligible military veterans and their spouses, including discounted fertility medications and reduced fees for comprehensive IVF services.

We also participate in the EMD Serono Compassionate Corps program, which may provide free fertility medicine to eligible veterans.

Financial barriers should never be the reason a military family doesn't get to come home to the family they've been dreaming of.

The fertility journey can bring up so many emotions: anxiety about outcomes, grief from losses, and an isolation that is difficult to explain to anyone who has not lived it.

And underneath all of it, many people are also quietly navigating a loss of control and a quiet erosion of their sense of self.

In this post, we are focusing on the three challenges we hear about most: anxiety, grief, and isolation, along with a few gentle ways to start coping with each one.

At CARS, we are committed to supporting your whole self through our HealthCircle integrated programs.

We offer dedicated resources to help you navigate the emotional complexities of this journey, including:

đź’™ Psychological Counseling with Dr. Kim Crone, our highly trained psychologist who specializes in helping patients cope with the emotional stress of infertility and treatment.

May is Anxiety Awareness Month. When we talk about infertility and fertility treatments, we often talk about hope, resilience, and science. But we need to talk about the anxiety, too.

The fertility journey is inherently uncertain. It involves waiting for test results, waiting for the next cycle, and waiting for answers that sometimes never come.

This constant state of "what if" puts the nervous system on high alert.

For those navigating pregnancy after a loss, that anxiety can be even more profound. A positive test doesn't always bring immediate relief; instead, it can trigger a new wave of fear, making it difficult to trust your body or believe that this time will be different.

This chronic anxiety doesn't just live in your mind. It affects your sleep, your relationships, and your overall well-being. When your body is constantly in a state of stress, it takes a toll on your physical and mental health.

While anxiety itself doesn't cause infertility, managing it is a crucial part of caring for your whole self during treatment.

If you are feeling overwhelmed, please know you are not alone. Here are a few gentle ways to manage anxiety while undergoing fertility treatment:

First, acknowledge your feelings without judgment. It is okay to feel scared or overwhelmed.

Second, try to focus on the step immediately in front of you rather than the entire staircase.

Grounding techniques, like deep breathing or focusing on your senses, can help bring you back to the present moment when your mind starts to spiral.

Protect your peace by setting boundaries around what you share and who you share it with.

Finally, lean on professional support. Therapists who specialize in fertility counseling can provide invaluable tools to help you navigate this heavy emotional load.

We see how hard you are working, both physically and emotionally. We are here to support you through all of it. đź’™

PCOS has finally had a name change. Now PMOS: Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome.

For so many women, the old name created confusion, self-doubt, and years of unanswered questions.

PCOS implied pathological ovarian cysts, which meant countless women were dismissed or misdiagnosed simply because their ovaries looked "normal." That delay had real consequences.

The new terms, polyendocrine, metabolic, and ovarian, finally reflect the syndrome's multisystemic influence. And the cysts? Omitted entirely.

This change is a step toward making sure no woman has to fight to be believed or wait years for a diagnosis.

At CARS, a First Fertility practice, Dr. Barsky and our team understand how isolating and frustrating that journey can be.

We are here to guide you through what this means for your diagnosis and your path forward.

What questions do you have about the name change? Let us know!

We're happy to help you navigate this!

It is National Nurses Week, and we want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible nurses who show up for our patients every single day.

Fertility nurses are in a category all their own. They are the ones who answer your questions at 7am, who hold your hand before a procedure, who remember your name and your story, and who cheer just as hard as you do when good news comes in.

They carry the weight of this journey alongside you, and they do it with so much heart.

This week, we are celebrating them. And we want to hear from you.

Has a fertility nurse made a difference in your journey?

Did someone go above and beyond, make you feel seen, or say exactly the right thing at exactly the right moment?

Drop their name or share your story in the comments. Let's show our nurses just how much they mean to the people they care for.

Mother’s Day can bring so many emotions—love, longing, grief, hope… sometimes all at once.

If you’re still waiting to become a parent, this day can feel especially tender. And that makes sense. There is nothing wrong with you for feeling this way.

Wherever you are in your journey—whether you’re in treatment, taking a break, or just trying to get through the day—please know this: you are not alone.

Even when it feels quiet or unseen, you are moving forward. Sometimes in big ways, sometimes in very small ones. Both count.

And while today may not look the way you hoped, this is not the end of your story.

✨ Next Mother’s Day may feel different.

If today feels hard, a few gentle ways to care for yourself:
• Take a walk—no destination, just fresh air and a moment to breathe
• Step outside and take a few slow, grounding breaths
• Do one small thing your future self will thank you for
• Let yourself opt out of anything that feels like too much
• Remind yourself: this moment is not the whole story

There's no right or wrong way to navigate this day. We’re holding space for you today. 🤍

Today, May 6, we celebrate National Nurses Day and the start of Nurses Week—and this year’s theme: The Power of Nurses.💪

At The Center for Advanced Reproductive Services (CARS), a First Fertility practice, the day often starts early.

Morning monitoring.
Quiet waiting rooms.
That first cup of coffee before everything begins.

And then—your fertility nurse calls your name.

The power of fertility nurses is in those moments.

In setting the tone for the day.
In offering calm before results, before decisions, before the unknown.

💙 This week, we celebrate the fertility nurses who meet patients at the very start of it all—with care, steadiness, and compassion.

Tell us their name. Tag them. And share one thing they did that stayed with you.
