The Victim State Feels Safe…
Until You Realize It’s Destroying Your Life.

This may sound harsh, but it’s one of the biggest traps people fall into.
Not anger.
Not fear.
👉 Self-pity.
That quiet voice that says:
“Look what happened to me.”
“Nobody understands.”
“I’ve suffered more than others.”
“It’s not fair.”
And here’s why it’s so addictive.
Because the victim state secretly meets some of our deepest human needs.
As Tony Robbins teaches, every behavior meets a need.
Even the destructive ones.
Self-pity can give us:
👉 Certainty
“I know why my life isn’t working.”
👉 Significance
“My pain is bigger than everyone else’s.”
👉 Connection
“People feel sorry for me and give me attention.”
For a moment, it feels comforting.
But the price is enormous.
Because while you’re explaining why life is happening to you…
you’re no longer creating the life that could happen through you.
The victim state slowly steals:
👉 your power
👉 your creativity
👉 your courage
👉 your responsibility
👉 your future
And what’s dangerous is that many people don’t stay in victim mode alone.
They bounce between:
👉 irritation
👉 anger
👉 self-pity
👉 blame
Again and again.
The cycle becomes familiar.
The drama becomes identity.
The suffering becomes a lifestyle.
And years go by.
The breakthrough happens the moment you ask a different question.
Not:
❌ “Why is this happening to me?”
But:
✅ “What can I learn from this?”
✅ “How can I grow from this?”
✅ “What can I do right now?”
That’s where power returns.
Not because life becomes easier.
But because you stop giving your power away.
Pain is real.
Loss is real.
Challenges are real.
But staying there is a choice.
The strongest people I know are not the people who never suffered.
They’re the people who turned suffering into purpose.
Who transformed pain into growth.
Who decided that their story would not end as a victim story.
Because where your focus goes, your energy flows.
And the quality of your life is determined by the meaning you give to your experiences.

⚡ THE MOMENT YOU WANT TO ESCAPE IS THE MOMENT TO BECOME PRESENT ⚡

Pressure is not asking you to suffer.

Pressure is inviting you to become conscious.

A challenge begins.

The breath changes.

The body grows tired.

A sensation appears.

And then, almost immediately, the mind begins speaking:

“When will this be over?”

“This is uncomfortable.”

“I don’t like this.”

The challenge itself is not creating most of the discomfort.

The resistance is.

Notice this in your own life.

Not only during a challenge.

In traffic.

In conflict.

In uncertainty.

In waiting.

In loss.

In every moment that is not exactly as the mind wants it to be.

The mind moves away from the present moment and begins arguing with reality.

Yet peace is never found there.

Peace is found here.

In this breath.

In this step.

In this moment.

These State Control challenges are not really about endurance.

They are an opportunity to observe.

To notice the thoughts.

To notice the reactions.

To notice the urge to escape.

And then to return.

To the breath.

To the body.

To the present moment.

Again and again.

Because the present moment is the only place where life exists.

And when you stop resisting the moment, something remarkable happens.

The pressure may remain.

The discomfort may remain.

But suffering begins to dissolve.

And what remains is awareness.

Sometimes What Looks Like Love…
Is Actually Fear Wearing a Mask.

“Be careful.”

“Don’t do that.”

“What if something happens?”

“Stay safe.”

Most of us heard phrases like these growing up.

And they often came from people who truly loved us.

Parents.
Grandparents.
Teachers.

The intention was care.

But underneath the words, there was often something deeper:

👉 fear.

Fear of loss.
Fear of failure.
Fear of pain.
Fear of uncertainty.

And here’s the interesting part:

Children don’t just hear words.

They feel energy.

They feel tension.
They feel anxiety.
They feel certainty or uncertainty.

Long before they understand language, they understand nervous systems.

That’s why two parents can say the exact same words:

👉 “Be careful.”

One says it from love and presence.

The other says it from fear and panic.

The child feels the difference immediately.

And adults are no different.

We remember some words.

But we feel the energy behind them.

This is one reason why certainty becomes such a powerful human need.

As Tony Robbins teaches, certainty is one of our core needs.

There is nothing wrong with wanting safety.

The problem begins when fear starts running our lives.

When protection becomes overprotection.

When care becomes control.

When love becomes anxiety.

When certainty becomes a prison.

Because then we stop growing.

We stop trusting.

We stop exploring.

And eventually, we teach the people around us to fear life instead of living it.

The goal isn’t to eliminate fear.

The goal is to become bigger than it.

To create enough internal certainty that you can still choose:

👉 curiosity over control
👉 growth over comfort
👉 love over fear

Because the strongest form of certainty doesn’t come from controlling life.

It comes from trusting yourself.

Trusting that no matter what happens,
you will find a way.

That’s the energy our children need.

That’s the energy our partners need.

And that’s the energy we need ourselves.

Most people believe that pressure is the problem.

But pressure is rarely the problem.

What creates suffering is the story we add to the pressure.

A sensation appears in the body.

The breath changes.

The muscles become tired.

And almost instantly, the mind arrives with its commentary:

“This is too much.”

“I need this to stop.”

“I can’t do this.”

Yet if you observe carefully, you may notice something interesting.

The discomfort exists.

But the suffering begins when we resist what is already happening.

These challenges are not about winning against the body.

They are not about proving how strong you are.

They are an opportunity to become aware.

Aware of your breath.

Aware of your thoughts.

Aware of the moment when the mind begins to leave the present and create a future it wants to escape.

And in that awareness, a different possibility appears.

You realize that you can remain present even when discomfort is present.

You can breathe.

You can observe.

You can allow the moment to be exactly as it is.

And from that space comes a deeper form of strength.

Not force.

Not struggle.

Presence.

Because true state control is not controlling life.

It is remaining conscious within life.

Even when pressure rises.

Especially when pressure rises.

The Heroes You Admire May Reveal the Wound You’re Trying to Heal.

Have you ever noticed that your favorite characters change throughout your life?

In this short clip from my workshop, I share something I discovered about myself.

As a child, I was drawn to characters like:

👉 Hercules
👉 Hulk
👉 Samson
👉 Minotaur

Powerful.
Strong.
Almost unstoppable.

At the time, I didn’t understand why.

Today I do.

After losing people I loved early in life, part of me wanted one thing:

👉 To become strong enough that nobody would ever get hurt again.

Of course, that’s impossible.

But children don’t think that way.

Children create meaning.

And many times, the characters we admire become mirrors of the way we’re trying to handle pain.

That’s why I was also attracted to characters like Hulk or Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

Good souls.

But carrying something powerful, angry, and uncontrollable inside.

Years later, I notice something different.

Today I’m more inspired by:

👉 Odysseus
👉 Moses
👉 Solomon
👉 Doctor Strange

Still powerful.

But the power is different.

Less force.
More wisdom.

Less reaction.
More understanding.

Less proving.
More purpose.

And that’s what makes this exercise so interesting.

The heroes we admire can reveal where we are emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.

Not because something is wrong with us.

But because they often reflect the challenges we’re trying to overcome.

Sometimes we outgrow an old hero.

Sometimes we need a new one.

And sometimes we realize we’ve been living the same story for years.

The same beliefs.
The same emotional patterns.
The same identity.

Even if life looks successful on the outside.

So here’s a question:

👉 If your favorite hero today perfectly reflected your inner world, what would that tell you about the journey you’re on right now?

Awareness creates choice.

And choice creates growth.
