Our Silver Adventurers Group had an absolutely wonderful Friday! We took a beautiful scenic drive up to Vallecito Lake in Colorado, enjoyed a delicious lunch, took in the gorgeous views, and spent the day relaxing and making memories together. And to make our day even more special, our good friend Kim, the violinist, greeted us when we arrived and serenaded our residents at the restaurant with his beautiful music! We had a boat ride planned, but the lake sadly is very low. Kim has become such a wonderful friend of The Bridge. One of our ladies said when we left, " Boy, he must love us!" After about seven hours of adventure, our residents came home with smiles, happy hearts, and memories to last a lifetime.

πŸš“ We had a wonderful and very informative visit from Rebekah Click with the San Juan County Sheriff's Office, NM Office for a scam awareness presentation!

Our residents learned some great tips on how to recognize and avoid scams, and they loved all the helpful information, fridge reminders and handouts. A huge thank you to the Sheriff's Office for helping keep our residents safe, informed, and one step ahead! πŸ‘

Resident Spotlight: John Gordon πŸ’™

🏑 For the past year, John Gordon has called The Bridge Assisted Living home, and we're grateful to have him as part of our community. When asked what he enjoys most about living at The Bridge, John's answer is simple: 3 delicious meals a day! 🍽️ In fact, the kitchen staff were among the very first friends he made here.

John is always on the move and never takes the elevator. You'll usually find him taking the stairs, tending to plantsπŸͺ΄, or enjoying the beauty of our courtyard gardens. An avid gardener, John fondly remembers growing irises with his father and is excited to help create a new iris garden in our front courtyard. 🌸

πŸ“šJohn also loves reading, participating in our Silver Seniors group outings, and attending local events. Recently, he enjoyed a trip to see the Lovin' Spoonful Revival at the Civic Center. While he loves the outings, he has one request: More men should join the fun!

πŸ“― Music has always been a big part of John's life. He began playing the French horn in 7th grade and has performed in orchestras throughout his life. Today, he still enjoys attending performances by the San Juan Symphony Orchestra whenever he can. 🎢

Most of all, John appreciates the caring staff and support he receives every day. "The Bridge is a wonderful place to call home." ❀️ Thank you, John, for sharing your story and for helping make our community such a special place.

On Friday night, we took 9 of our residents to the Farmington Civic Center to enjoy the Lovin' Spoonful concert! 🎢

Everyone had a wonderful time singing along, making memories, and enjoying the music. One of our residents said, "I feel young again!" We'd say that's a pretty successful night! πŸ˜ƒ
