SAN JUAN COUNTY RESIDENTS: PLEASE TURN ON YOUR EMERGENCY ALERTS

With more rain expected today and severe flooding already affecting our area, we urge all San Juan County residents to ensure emergency alerts are enabled on their phones.

If you have previously turned off AMBER Alerts or other government emergency alerts, PLEASE TURN THEM BACK ON, even if it's only temporarily. These alerts can provide critical information during emergencies, including evacuation notices and other life-threatening situations.

iPhone users:
1. Open Settings.
2. Select Notifications.
3. Scroll to the bottom to Government Alerts.
4. Turn on Emergency Alerts, Public Safety Alerts, and AMBER Alerts, if available.

Android users:
1. Open Settings.
2. Search for Wireless Emergency Alerts.
3. Turn on Extreme Threats, Severe Threats, AMBER Alerts, and Public Safety Alerts, if available.

Please take this situation seriously. Conditions can change quickly, and additional rainfall could make flooding worse. Avoid unnecessary travel, stay away from flooded roadways and never attempt to drive through standing or moving water.

Continue following San Juan County Office of Emergency Management for evacuation information and updates. Please share this information with family, friends, and neighbors, especially those who may need help adjusting their phone settings.
