There are times when what we are carrying is bigger than what we can manage alone. Reaching out to a counselor, therapist, or trusted adult is not a last resort. It is a practical, healthy step toward feeling supported and building the skills to navigate difficult situations.

Asking for help is part of taking care of yourself. Learn more at ItStartsWithUsNM.org.

Happy National Parents' Day!

Being a parent is one of the most important jobs in the world. Every day, parents wear many hats. They're teachers, chefs, chauffeurs, problem-solvers, and so much more. But above all, they are protectors, advocates, and a safe place where their children can learn, grow, and feel loved.

The care, guidance, and support you provide help shape confident, resilient, and compassionate individuals. Thank you to all the parents and caregivers who show up every day with patience, strength, and unconditional love.

From all of us at Sexual Assault Services of Northwest New Mexico, Happy National Parents' Day!

You do not have to figure everything out on your own. Talking about what you’re going through with a friend, older sibling, coach, or someone else you trust, it isn't always easy, but it can mean no longer having to carry everything by yourself.

What an amazing time we had at our Gallup Ribbon Cutting!

For those who may not know, we have a new office in Gallup that allows us to provide in-house SANE exams. This change provides a space that is comfortable and safe for survivors. We would like to thank everyone for coming to be part of this great accomplishment.

We are proud to be part of strengthening these vital services for the Gallup community.

Taking care of yourself is not something you earn after you finish everything else. Rest, downtime, and moments of quiet are all part of staying healthy and being able to show up for the people and things that matter to you.
This summer, give yourself permission to slow down.

Bold text overlaid on the image reads: "You don't need to earn rest." The website ItStartsWithUsNM.org and the hashtag appear in a dark banner at the top of the graphic.
