Pride Month is more than celebration—it’s about creating spaces where people feel safe, seen, and supported 🌈

For many in the LGBTQ+ community, mental health can be impacted by things like rejection, discrimination, or feeling like they have to hide who they are.

That’s why affirming environments matter so much.

Here are a few simple ways to show support:

💛 Use people’s correct names and pronouns
💛 Avoid assumptions about identity or relationships
💛 Speak up when you hear harmful language
💛 Create spaces where people feel safe to be themselves

Small actions can make a big difference.

✨ Everyone deserves to feel accepted for who they are.

It's CPR & AED Awareness Week!

Did you know: CPR can double—or even triple—a person’s chance of survival after cardiac arrest ❤️

But in an emergency, it’s easy to panic and forget what to do.

Here’s a simple way to remember:

🆘 CALL 911
👉 Make sure help is on the way

💪 PUSH HARD & FAST
👉 Center of the chest
👉 100–120 compressions per minute
👉 About 2 inches deep

⚡ USE AN AED (if available)
👉 Turn it on and follow the prompts—it will guide you step by step

You don’t have to be perfect.
Doing something is always better than doing nothing.

✨ Saving a life could be in your hands.

Kindness is one of the simplest, most powerful things we can offer—and it costs nothing 💛

Today is Say Something Nice Day, a reminder that even the smallest words can make a big impact.

A compliment.
A “thinking of you.”
A simple “you’re doing a great job.”

You never know what someone is carrying, and your words might be the thing that helps them get through the day.

✨ Take a moment today to say something kind—to a friend, a partner, a coworker… or even a stranger.

And don’t forget yourself.
You deserve kind words too.

⬇️ Drop something kind in the comments or tag someone who deserves to hear it today.

As we wrap up the month of May… 💛

This month we recognized:
🧠 Mental Health Awareness
💛 Teen Self-Esteem
🏡 Foster Care Awareness
👩‍👧 Caregivers, teachers, and nurses

Each of these reminds us of the same thing:

✨ People need support.
✨ Connection matters.
✨ And no one should have to navigate life alone.

Whether you’re:
• supporting a child
• raising a teen
• showing up for others every day
• or just trying to take care of yourself

💡 You’re doing more than you think.

As we move into a new month, let’s continue to:
✔ check in with ourselves and others
✔ create safe, supportive spaces
✔ lead with empathy and understanding

Because mental health isn’t just a monthly focus —
it’s something we carry with us every day.

As Mental Health Awareness Month comes to a close… 🧠💛

Let this be your reminder:

Mental health isn’t just something we talk about in May — it’s something we carry with us every day.

This month, we’ve talked about:
• supporting children and teens
• building self-esteem
• recognizing signs of struggle
• creating safe, supportive environments

But awareness is just the beginning.

✨ What matters most is what we carry forward:
• checking in with ourselves and others
• continuing open conversations
• asking for help when we need it
• offering support without judgment

💡 Reminder:
You don’t have to have it all figured out to take care of your mental health.

Small steps still matter.
Support is always available.
And you are never alone.

How to support children who have experienced foster care 💛

Children who have experienced foster care don’t need perfection — they need connection, consistency, and safety.

Here are a few ways to support them:

✨ Be predictable
Consistent routines help children feel safe.

✨ Focus on connection before correction
Build trust first — behavior improves when children feel secure.

✨ Offer choices when possible
This helps rebuild a sense of control.

✨ Be patient
Healing takes time, and progress isn’t always linear.

💡 Reminder:
Connection is one of the most powerful tools for healing.

Memorial Day is a federal holiday dedicated to honoring and remembering the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military.

It’s often confused with other military holidays, but each has a different meaning:

• Memorial Day → honors those who lost their lives in service
• Veterans Day → honors all who have served
• Armed Forces Day → honors those currently serving

For many, Memorial Day is also a time to reflect on:
💛 sacrifice
💛 loss
💛 grief and remembrance

💡 As a mental health practice, we also recognize:
Days like today can bring up a range of emotions — especially for military families, veterans, and those who have experienced loss.

✨ Reminder:
However you observe today, your experience is valid.

Supporting children in foster care starts with awareness and access to resources 💛

During National Foster Care Month, here are ways to help support children and families:

🏡 Learn about trauma-informed care
Understanding behavior through a trauma lens changes how we respond.

🤝 Support foster families
Even small acts of support can make a big difference.

📚 Educate yourself & others
Awareness helps reduce stigma and builds stronger communities.

📞 Helpful resources:
• Local foster care agencies
• State child & family services
• Mental health providers specializing in trauma
• National Foster Care resources (childwelfare.gov)

💡 Reminder:
Every child deserves safety, stability, and support.

Let’s talk about foster care and mental health. 💛

During National Foster Care Month, it’s important to understand that children in foster care often experience:

• trauma and loss
• sudden transitions
• separation from caregivers
• uncertainty about the future

These experiences can impact:
🧠 emotional regulation
🤝 trust and relationships
💭 self-esteem and identity

💡 What helps?
Children thrive when they have:
✔ consistent routines
✔ safe, supportive adults
✔ patience and understanding
✔ trauma-informed care

✨ Reminder:
Behavior is often communication — especially for children who have experienced trauma.

Mental health isn’t just about crisis — it’s about daily care. 🧠💛

During Mental Health Awareness Month, we often focus on big conversations…
but mental health is shaped in the small, everyday moments.

Here are a few simple ways to support your mental health daily:

✨ Check in with yourself
Ask: “What do I need right now?”

✨ Name your emotions
You can’t regulate what you don’t recognize.

✨ Create small moments of pause
Even 2–5 minutes to breathe, reset, or step away matters.

✨ Stay connected
Talking to someone you trust can make a big difference.

💡 Reminder:
Taking care of your mental health doesn’t have to be overwhelming —
small, consistent steps add up.
